Anyone think there's anything dodgy about these?

All for the Pikachu Edition yellow DS lite, all going for around £100 or so. I thought these were uber uber rare? I'm guessing these are fake (Hong Kong based seller) or I'm missing something obvious.

I was looking into buying Wii points today and I had a scout around eBay. I found one card which was a good BIN price, so I emailed the member to ask him if he'd be willing to email me the code.

The guy then emailed me the code in error, thinking I was a winning bidder. I am not going to use this code for moral and practical reasons, but it's so frustrating waiting for my next opportunity to win an auction or wait for stock at Tronix, knowing that I have a code in my possession.

Just to say there seems to be a glitch at present with the Paypal system. Bloody happened to me yesterday.

I went to purchase a Wii from a store in Germany for my folks for Christmas. Went through the usual steps and went to pay via Paypal, the card was declined. I guessed maybe some debits had come off this particualr account so I tried another only for the same 'declined' message to pop up.

I know this was strange so I checked my accounts, and both payments of 270 Euros had been authorised by my banks and was waiting to be claimed by Paypal.Paypal will not be claiming it though, so it's in limbo until it automatically falls off there account apparently. Then it will return to my accounts.

Ebay forums seem to be reporting the same issues. Just thought I'd let folk know...

Paypal & eBay also arent registering the same info on whether a PP payment has cleared or not either.
I've had 2 PP payments which the email stated were an instant PP payment, but according to my eBay account the payment status is pending.
Plus I'm getting PP payment emails but no email from eBay stating that the item sold.

After the debacle earlier, the eBayer offered me a slight discount - 2000 points for $15 - snapped it up!

Bought some more from another seller - giving me 4000 for the princely sum of ?16.79

#1 What happens if a seller lists a certain postal method but says they have shipped with a completely different service with a completely different postal company? I'm buying from the US.

Surely this must be against eBay policy?

              __________________________________________________ ______

#2 I emailed the seller to request an email once they had shipped the item and requesting a tracking number. I received a message from a completely different ebay member saying that they were shipping today and that there may not be a tracking number. I checked around and have definitely had no contact/activity with this ebay member (and I sent a message to them saying just that). Interestingly though, I found that the member that emailed me had bought exactly the same item as me just a week earlier, leaving feedback on the seller's account.

I am pretty concerned about the possibility of foul play here. Why would the EXACTLY same listing be listed twice within a week? Should I be worried about my item at all or am I just being too critical?

#1 is probably against ebay policy but I doubt they'd do much if you complained to them. If the seller has skimped on postage ask the seller for a partial refund for the difference in cost....if they're unwilling leave them negative feedback after you get the game.

#2 I'd contact the seller and ask what the score is. It could be entirely innocent - perhaps the other guy bid in error & the seller agreed to relist the game to help the guy recoup some money (unlikely but possible). Alternatively, there could be something more underhand going on such as shill bidding (the seller sets up another account so as to bid on their own items to help bump up the selling price....sometimes backfires and they win their own item!). This is against ebay policy and definite cause for complaint to ebay.

Have you got a link to the listing at all? May be easy enough to spot if shill bidding has been going on.

eBay is forcing you to use PayPal when selling!

I went on ebay today to sell Metal Gear Portable Ops on PSP, and they've made it mandatory to use PayPal when selling!

What a load of ****e. I knew this would happen someday, and it now officially means I can never use ebay to sell again.

I point blank refuse to use PayPal. It is impossible to get the money out of it afterwards. A cheque puts the money directly into my account. Damn, I am pissed off now.

Are you sure? I've just listed something and there was a large box for PayPal with a box to uncheck if you didn't want to use it, and the usual list of other payment methods and check boxes underneath.

It was a video game I listed. Perhaps it would have gone tits up then had I unchecked the PayPal box.

If you untick the box it won't start the auction.

                          Bastards. This sucks.

First they screw you by charging you to put the auction up, then they take a cut of your profits, then they charge you for receiving payment! MADNESS!

I can now never again use eBay, and worse still, there is absolutely no alternative. This really annoys me. I wanted to sell my Turbo Duo in January, along with my Jaguar and other gaming items/systems, and now it's impossible - they may as well be binned!

Furthermore, PayPal charges for when you put the money back in your bank account, unless it's over ?50, thereby making it worse than useless.

What the hell am I going to do now?! I'm sitting on hundreds of pounds worth of items I'll never shift!

sell them here or on other forums
                            key
or dont list them as video games - i only search through ebay using key words

but if you are still intending on binning them - give me a shout and i will come and rummage through your bins

It's got to be over £50 though.

Also, the fact that consoles are now mandatory to use PayPal, this is just as bad as banning the sale/purchase of consoles.

People who don't use PayPal, like me, aren't going to start just to sell or buy the odd console. Less people will be putting them up (I've just had a quick look and can't find any Turbo Duo consoles), and less people will be buying them.

The scale of this change is HUGE. The biggest and easiest place to buy rare consoles now longer exists. Which is actually good for NTSC-uk, since if anyone wants to buy/sell rare stuff like Turbo Duos or Neo Geo systems, they have to either do it here, on another forum, or via Gamestation.

Suddenly it feels like 1995 again.
