great to see Williams back where they belong !!
Although it's still only Friday and probably some of the teams didn't realy show what they are capable off, it does look good indeed to see Williams, RedBull, Brawn and Toyota on top of the leaderboards instead of again Ferrari and McLaren... if this really is the true speed of the cars at the moment we could have some VERY interesting races with all the high payed top drivers racing in the middle/back of the field.

Tomorrow we will know which teams are fast and which have some homework to do...

can't wait for the race !!

I've been watching the practice on the red button, and those front wings are massive!

How many people do you think will lose their front wing going into the first corner? It looks like it's going to be really easy to clip it on someone.

Just watched the extended highlights of the Aus GP from 1994 - Brilliant that they've put these up on the BBC website (which is far better than the ITV one by the way, so no surprise there).

Was really enjoying it until Schumacher showed his true colours. IMO the most tainted champion ever in F1. The guys dirty driving was just shocking.

Thanks for mentioning that archive 94 coverage sharky. For anyone who wants the link, it is:

You have had your say and we have a winner for our classic Australian Grand Prix feature. We had an overwhelming response to this idea - and we are thrilled...

It also has 1986 highlights as well!

          More highlights here:

I miss Murray Walker - he elevates the excitement to another level!

Dodgy, dodgy Schumacher - I miss him a lot in F1, but when you watch that race, you just have to shake your head. A brilliant, peerless driver, but just lacked that bit of class that would have made him loved by the masses.

Ah, it feels good to have that music back. My mind just associates The Chain with Formula 1

Goosebumps for me, when watching that, and I can't even access Beeb content. Cry..

                      Toyota disqualified.

What a story about Brawn GP. For months no one knew what was going to happen with the team and now they're at the sharp end with Virgin as a sponsor.

I like the Rossi yellow on the car.

The info we have been waiting for. So I assume this mea
s min weight of 605kg minus difference equals the fuel load.

                          Pos. Driver Car weight
                          1. Jenson Button 664.5kg
                          2. Rubens Barrichello 666.5kg
                          3. Sebastien Vettel 657kg
                          4. Robert Kubica 650kg
                          5. Nico Rosberg 657kg
                          6. Felipe Massa 654kg
                          7. Kimi Raikkonen 655.5kg
                          8. Mark Webber 662kg
                          9. Nick Heidfeld 691.5kg
                          10. Fernando Alonso 680.7kg
                          11. Kazuki Nakajima 680.5kg
                          12. Heikki Kovalainen 690.6kg
                          13. Sebastien Buemi 675.5kg
                          14. Nelson Piquet 694.1kg
                          15. Giancarlo Fisichella 689kg
                          16. Adrian Sutil 684.5kg
                          17. Sebastien Bourdais 662.5kg
                          18. Lewis Hamilton 655kg
                          19. Jarno Trulli 660kg
                          20. Timo Glock 670kg

So Brawn are heavier than RB yet faster. Maybe they will walk away with the titles. Gulp. And look at BMW, trying to fool everyone. I love this new season already.

Hamilton's got a five place grid drop for a gearbox change.

Fantastic qualifying sesh, already shaping up to be a great season. Wasn't so keen on the BBCs presentation (and I lol'd at the 'break') but I'm sure it will improve.
