Is this another one of them weird Xbox 360 marketing campaigns? I have to say, this one is working pretty well.

B-n-S drops one but wins by a mile

      By Shan Seman
      Reporter / Saipan Tribune

      Wednesday, October 19, 2005

B-n-S entered the Marianas High School Gymnasium yesterday with a mission and despite dropping the third set, managed to get back to its dominant ways and went on to defeat Just For Fun, 53-30, as action continued in the 2005 World Organized Rocball High School League.

As reported earlier, B-n-S had complete control of the match in the first two sets, leading 32-8, before game official Jim Feger put a hold on the game after the allotted time expired.

It was a new day yesterday and was more so for Just For Fun, who blew away all in attendance by jumping the gun and getting off to a stunning start in the third set. Kevin Aldan served for six straight points and Just For Fun took the early lead. The team found itself with a 9-0 lead before B-n-S managed to get a kee to get on the board.

The kee was quickly erased, though, as Just For Fun connected for a xunk and chose to subtract the two points off of B-n-S. It was all Just For Fun from there as the team went on to a 16-6 win, cutting their deficit to 14 points, 24-38.

B-n-S had to win the fourth set to juice out and did so in convincing fashion. Myron Laniyo served for four aces and a xunk to kick off their retaliation and the game was quickly put away, ending with Laniyo making a diving save that sent the ball up in the air. The ball soon touched the floor but not after it was smacked by B-n-S for the game-winning kill.

Laniyo finished as the game's heavy hitter with four aces, two xunks, and three kees for 18 points. Aldan led Just For Fun with six points on two aces and a kee.

Action in high school Rocball resumes tomorrow as Black Magic and defending champion Mwaliyas test each other.

I'm putting my money on the defending champions Mwaliyas!!! Veteran Darrel Roligat's hard hits should make short work of Black Magic

Good call, 8) but its going to be a good game. Dior Jones of Black Magic is also a veteran player and both teams have experienced players. Its a good match-up.

              I'll keep you updated

                  8) MWALIYAS and the Black Magic were in a deadlock yesterday as they battled for the solo lead in the 2005 World Organized Rocball High School League at the Marianas High School Gym.
Darrel Roligat nailed a goal in the opening set as Mwaliyas drew first blood, 18-5.
But the Black Magic tied the match as Dior Jones and Mollins Episom scored on their serves to lead their team to a 15-11 win in the second set.

Mwaliyas Shane Yamada opened the third set with a goal en route to the squad?s 11-6 lead. The game was called off, as players needed to return to their classes.
The match resumes today with Roligat serving.

Pedro Iguel was leading Mwaliyas with eight points nailing three aces and one kee. Roligat had five points on one ace and one goal.

Episom and Jones had four points each as they both converted two aces each.
Mwaliyas and the Black Magic were gunning for their second straight win as both teams won their debut games with Mwaliyas beating Caropino, 70-42, in overtime and the Black Magic downing Malat, 57-44.

The league is on its second round of a seven-round regular season.
Four other teams are competing for this year?s title. These are the Lagooners, Ochubo, B-n-S and Just for Fun. The Lagooners and B-n-S also won their debut games against Ochubo and Just for Fun, respectively.
B-n-S and the Lagooners will meet on Tuesday, while Malat and Caropino gun for their first win when they square off on Thursday.

Good luck with that mate. When Mwaliyas met them they got schooled, except Carpino's prevented us from juicing out forcing overtime.

But then it appears that anything can happen in Rocball...

Mwaliyas to go all the way baby!!!

                          Mwaliyas escapes in o-kon

Defending champion Mwaliyas was given a run for their money yesterday before emerging victorious in the second set of o-kon to beat Black Magic, 60-57, in the ongoing 2005 World Organized Rocball High School League at the Marianas High School Gymnasium.

As reported earlier, Mwaliyas was in the driver seat after posting a 40-26 lead midway through the third set Thursday.

Action resumed yesterday with the defending champions up 11-6 in the third, and Mwaliyas wasted no time in driving Black Magic into a deeper hole by quickly taking the set 15-6. Pedro Iguel connected for a kill, Shane Yamada drilled an ace, and the team earned another point to head into the fourth set with an 18-point cushion, 44-26.

With their backs against the wall, Black Magic dug deep into their bag of tricks and began their comeback campaign. Needing to win the fourth set to force o-kon-Rocball term for overtime-the Black Magic players strung up strong serves with three aces and three kees, and kept Mwaliyas from getting into a rhythm for a stunning 16-2 victory.

Black Magic was still in a hole, needing to win two sets in overtime while Mwaliyas only needed to take one set.

With odds against them, the one-two punch of Dior Jones and Julius Saito fueled Black Magic's push and the team made quick work of their opponents to force a do-or-die session with a 12-4 victory. The set was tightly fought in the early goings as both teams were knotted at 3-3, but a kee by Jones ignited a 9-1 run to end the set.

Just when it seemed Black Magic had control of the game's momentum, Mwaliyas settled down, recovered, and bruised the ball the best they could to swing favor back to their corner and survive for the win. 8)

Jones and Iguel led their teams and finished as the game's heavy hitters with 10 points. Jones had four aces and a kee, while Iguel connected for three aces and two kees.

High school Rocball action continues Monday with the Lagooners taking on B-n-S.

Defending champion Mwaliyas made an impressive debut in the 2005 World Organized Rocball High School League, and one reason was the play of multi-sport athlete Darrel Roligat, who after the first round, leads the league in scoring.

Roligat, who has made a name for himself with his speed on the rubber track, is also making his presence felt on the court and leads the league with 23 points after serving up five aces, smashing two kees, and connecting for three goals.
