I used an off-camera TTL cable with a Canon 430EX through a Lumiquest Softbox III. The second one {of John} had lots of orange gel stacked on the flash, and the white balance set to tungsten, which produced that heavy blue light from those strip lights outside. I want to experiment more with location portraiture.

Today I spent the whole day (just got back!) shooting promo shots for this design agency/design gallery in Highgate, London called the North & South Ideas Agency/North & South Ideas Gallery. I went through about 12GB of images. It was a long, long day. Still, I know I got a bunch of images right, and that's bloody satisfying. I've done a few paid shoots, but this is only my second that pays triple figures. It's a difficult profession. A bit of a mad choice, to be honest. But I felt pretty exhilarated all day long. I can't wait until I can do that again.

Mahoosive enviousness. It's beautiful. I just helped edit this film (stills only version) which has video footage shot on the 5D MKII in it. It's just such a nice camera to use. I'm dead lucky to have a 5D, and it's an amazing piece of technology, but the MK II is just a step ahead. Also, I was in Calumet on Drummond Street today to pick up an umbrella, and the guy behind the counter was talking in no uncertain terms about the "fact" that Canon are going to release some firmware that will seriously enhance the movie mode. Whether that's fact or fiction, I have no idea. But it's certainly desired.

It might be to drop the frame rate down to 24fps, which a lot of the cine types have been whining about.

Love the reflections in that shot Demon!

Leave that shot as it is or go back out and re-take it. I don't like the whole edit the picture afterwards stuff. But then i'm probably in a very small minority.

Monkey, I swear i've seen that cat in my back garden today!
