All of a sudden, this thread is alive with great photos !! Nice work all round.
Thanks EB. Do like that 'rain' shot of yours as well.
Pete - those 'Arrows' shots are pretty awesome.
In terms of a 10 stopper, there are some cheaper options (such as welders mask glass, which I've seen some great shots with - 2 quid on ebay !!), but the main two are:
B&W 10 Stop ND110 Screw in filter - I have this one, and bought a 77mm, which is my biggest lens size, and then bought step up rings so I can use it on my smaller threaded lenses as well. Expensive, but very well made. Hard to get hold of, and I waited 8 weeks for stock to come in. Got mine from Amazon, but fotosense and warehouseexpress are also known to get them.
The Lee 'Big Stopper' - this is a slot in type filter and is pretty new. Haven't seen it myself, but hear it's pretty good..Might be useful if you have a slot in filter setup already.
There are also cheaper alternatives from HiTech and LightCraft Workshop, but I have no experience of these at all.
The 10 Stop is great for daylight long exposures, but I hear that if you want to do LE stuff nearer dusk, it's actually a bit too dark, and something like a 6 stop is better. I have been getting 120 second exposures during the day, and people I know are getting even longer..

Also, some great stuff here recently. Nothing from me though, i'm going through one of those 'no time to actually shoot anything' phases at the moment. Hopefully some things soon.Last edited by Ginger Tosser; 13-07-2010, 22:59.

I have read that (although not conclusively) that people get green tint to their photos.

I have seen a colour cast of some of my shots (certainly not all though), but it's not overly apparent, and more of a purple colour rather than green. It seems to happen more when I shoot around dusk.
That said, I shoot RAW, so it's very easy to correct any casts in post processing, and most of my long exposure stuff gets a B&W conversion anyway.
Hope that helps.

It can be done, combining the screw in and slot in filters, but it is fiddly and a bit trial and error.
Know what you mean about using a filter on an UWA as well - would be nice if I could go wider than 12mm with my current slot in filters without severe vignetting....
