    I spent the weekend down in Oita so here come the photos

    the first 2 photos are of a pretty big wooden roller-coaster called Jupiter. It was the most uncomfortable experience I'd ever had. No wonder they don't make roller-coasters out of wood any more. I was sore all over when I got off. I will say this though, it was a fantastic ride. Genuine crap your pants stuff to rival the most modern of roller-coasters.

      D7000 by MartyPGBT, on Flickr

      Haven't had chance to do much shooting with it yet, just a quick trip around town at lunch and some portrait work for the company website.

      Handles pretty much like my D80 really, though there are some differences with the AF I need to get used to. Overall I'm pretty impressed, traded in my D80 and D2Xs for it, there's a noticeable improvement in IQ at higher ISOs and this one will push all the way to 25600 ISO.

      Edit - And some macro loveliness

        Nice one Marty, I'm saving up for a D700 in about a year or two as a replacement for my S2.

        Recent one's from me;

              Yep, realised that by the time I've saved up the 700 will probably be gone, hearing there's an 'entry level' full frame coming out - D600?
              The 800 for me has too many pixels, for the aviation stuff I don't need it and from reviews I've seen you really need a tripod most of the time since down at pixel level you can see camera shake even at fast speeds, so yes excellent camera but too good for me - and I'd need a new PC to process those massive files anyway!

              Thanks Yakumo, I tried to post a larger version but it made no difference, direct link is here if you want a look;

                The D600 is certainly spinning the rumour mill at the mo, especially with the recent budget 24-85mm FX lens just announced. If the leaked images and specs turn out to be correct, I could be very tempted to trade in my very recent D7000 purchase.

                Went for a lunch time walk today and spotted this - not completely convinced, I think it might need a human factor to nail it, but I liked the lead-in lines

                  Perfect clouds in that pic.

                  I added the human factor for you.

                  Marty adds charlesr to ignore list.....

                      That D600 rumour would be awesome if true. I'd sell my Canon and get one.

                        If the pics are fake they're the best fakes I've seen. I've been trawling the images archives of different Nikon bodies and there's nothing I can see that would allow such a good photoshop. It could be a prototype or a mock up, but I don't think it's a photoshop job as some are suggesting.

                        Should prolly link the pics: http://nikonrumors.com/2012/06/14/fi...0-images.aspx/

                          You may be the best photographer in the world, but sometimes all it takes to take the best shot is being in the right place at the right moment. It doesn't even matter if you take it with your cell or high-end DSLR. Often, you won't even notice you made an incredible picture until you come home and transfer your photos to a computer.

                          A few fun ones there. I like the eagle one.

                            What would an entry price be then for this nikon d600?

                              It's all still rumour and speculation at the moment - but those floating around is that'll be cheap as little as $1500 (so prolly around the ?1000) if it turns out to be more than mere speculation.

                                Great day ... Even though there were way too many people there , and I must have walked about 10 miles. The climb up to the rally stage was worth it though.

                                Anyway on with the pics:
