Love the web, very nice indeed.

Decided to go out with the camera today, was incredibly cold and foggy but a good opportunity to get some shots. Hoped the fog would clear but sadly did not. One of those times I wish I had bought myself another lens for landscape work!

Unfortunately it was so cold I lost all feeling in my hands, so the focus in some isn't particularly smart, likewise the framing! It was at sunset, but the fog was so thick you couldn't really make out the sun, but it put a weird orange haze around everything.

The last one has a nice effect if viewed large, but the crop as a whole doesn't work for me. Not really sure what to do with it.

Great shots from both Marty and Pete. I've been hoping to go out and do some but I'm feeling ****e at the moment. At least I'm off for the next 6 days or so.

Like the shots Pete, mean and moody in the fog. Love your cam peeking out from behind a branch in the big version of the bauble shot!

Went for a walk in the fog yesterday too.

Thanks for the comment on flickr Pete.

            Very eerie.

That last pic nearly works Pete, really like the framing in it.

Thanks Marty, I'm starting to like it too

Hope all you photographers have a good christmas. 2006 has been a massive step up for my knowledge and I hope to continue that in 2007. I get the impression many of us learnt Macro shooting at the same time, and that was a great experience for me.

In the mean time, checkout some of these sports photographer of the year shots - http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/mul...content.1.html (link from rllmuk).

Nice job hiding! I like it, you've managed a lot better colours than I did.

I got a camera beanbag for christmas which is pretty ace, though I didn't use it to take this:

Any camera related pressies for christmas?

Nice Pete, the background is quite freaky ( suits the pic well mind ) - do you have light brown tiles or have you retouched that some?

No photography related pressies, but I did use my photos for Christmas presents for other people, did personalised calanders, mugs, jigsaws and mugs

I love your fog shots Pete. Particularly the tree. Different and very dramatic.

Managed get a few lights in mine. Bit of a tweak with light levels on CS3.

As for pressies. Nothing for the Camera

I got a Lowepro lens case that attaches to my slingshot bag from the gf and also a Spudz lens cloth from my Dad

Good shots again as usual people.

loving lots of the stuff posted here and along with lots of other images i've seen recently decided to lay some cash down on a Canon 400D with the Kit Lens. I'm total novice but want to learn. I've taken lots of shots with it so far and i'm only just getting to grips with it really

Anyway this is probably my favourite picture I've taken so far

                              Any thoughts ?

Finally got round to taking a few more

Found the whole depth of field thing difficult so went for a couple that let me experiment with it, think the second one also may take the most literal pic of the year for me, not the most imaginative but helped me get the point!
