As picky as it sounds Marty I'd like to go 1mm wider. That lens sounds exactly the same as the Tamron I mentioned above though but just 18mm at the wide end rather than 17mm

Seen the Tamron at ?260 and have read some good things.

It's a fair cop! Not much is original these days.

Here's the latest published work, only 1 shot there you may have seen before.
6 more shots published in HHC mag this month. This time from all the different parts of the festival. I think the BHHF organiser that wrote the article has made a massive faux-pas though with the line 'the biggest surprise after we lost our funding was to not receive more support from our local artists' and rightly so the local artists are pretty much up in arms. I can see the point she is trying to make (as I was involved in the behind the scenes work to an extent) but she's gone about making it in the worst way she possibly could. It's come across as a massive slagging off of the talent she's supposed to be trying to help promote in an internationally available magazine where they effectively have no way to respond. Good job. I assume she chose the shots to go with the article too and note that she chose to exclude any shots of any local artists, tut tut. Full size so you can read the fuzzy text here I still don't have a scanner - sorry.

Sorry for the super ****ty quality.

And now for your perusal, Ferragudo beach area that I was half hoping to be a slum/shanty town but actually seemed to be a run down fishermans village/store/workshop area.

            And inside the 'slum'.

Which is much nicer large, there's a link to the large version if you click the pic through to it's Flickr page.

Interesting effect on the first one there Marty.

The last of my holiday shots (for now anyway):

This is about the best I can manage:

Admittedly they are just holiday snaps from when I was in Iowa this year but I think they're pretty nice
First one looks proper dark though =/

                    EDIT - Links fixed.

Can't view anything with myspace in the URL here at work, will try to take a look later.

I've changed it to Photobucket links. The MySpace ones didn't work anyway.

They're awful compared to everyone else's on here though ^_^

Look nice to me, especially the first one

Photography is personal anyway, doesn't really matter what anyone else thinks, as long as you're happy! (unless you're trying to make money out of it of course )

Yeah, myspace will only let you look at other peoples profiles, pics etc if you are signed in! Give Flickr a try - it's free to join and very cheap (£12 or so) to upgrade to a PRO account for the year, should you wish to do so!

I like both photos - you might wanna try cropping the second one to about 1.5 inches below that little house in the middle though so that it is mainly sky with a small amount of ground and that house showing. Do it as a SAVE AS though - I don't want you to lose your original photo!

And yeah the first one is a bit dark but that's because it's sun-up/sun-down time! Don't be so hard on yourself
