Looks nice and sharp. I'll be playing with flash soon as i've just bought a ST-E2 (speedlite transmitter) and a 430EX (already have a 580). So expect to see me double chin highlighted in a few different ways

Also, not sure if it would have, but did my answer to your question on the last page make sense?
Like I say, test shot and will try to better it soon hopefully. Thanks for the answer, I forgot to post that yes, it did make some sort of sense and I'm very jealous that you're in a position to go and see the world. Good luck with that

Have fun with the flashes, off camera flash is great fun.

        Proof they are decent!

Anyway had a decent off camera flash setup for my old film Eos, however it didn't work with digital. So a few pounds lighter I can relive what I did 10 years ago now

I like the shadow cast behind you Al - it's v. spooky! Nice capture on the cards too (no blur = sweet!).

What was the deal with that shoot, you set it up or was it a learning thing?

                Alastair,

Still haven't got access to my external drive but will definetely put it up ASAP!

The shoot was just for fun/learning and the model wanted to do something different from her usual underwear stuff. Was great but have LOTS to learn. Think it will be easier when I get a DSLR though to be honest. Chances are I probably won't do anymore until I get back from travels though.

Quick question for all you experts: where do you recommend for online printing services? Doesn't need to be super-primo expensive, just quick, reliable, nice quality and decent price.
This is for 400D shots so they're currently quite large. Will I need to resize them before upload?

                  Thanks in advance!

Edit: I'm seeing BonusPrint, Snapfish and Photobox... all around the 10p mark. Any votes?

Never used an online printer, sorry.

I use Photobox - you won't need to adjust them unless you're wanting one of the big posters ( which you'd probably want to increase the DPI on )

Photobox get stuff back to you very quickly. I've had a couple of decent A3 sized prints from them, and I also used them to do calenders for Christmas presents last year. The quality impressed me a lot, so I'm going to use them again this year too.

I like that hat pic Ish - nicely done. Haven't taken much recently that's been worth uploading.

I took this one yesterday, I thought the blue tones matched the recent chilly weather

For those in the UK; Thursday night 9pm BBC4 The Genius of Photography.

First ep sounds a bit dry to be honest but I imagine we'll all learn something from watching the series.

Also, did anyone see the Sebastian Salgado piece in the Sunday Times yesterday? Some great shots there from his many journeys through Africa.

Nijo, if you use Snapfish and have a Jessops near by, you can save on P&P by just requesting to pick them up from Jessops rather than having the photos sent to you - quite a decent idea really. Photos from Snapfish look nice too

Shame about the over exposed building above his head but there wasn't any time to get him to pose really.

Ish, if it wasn't PS how did you achieve the floating hat?
