Am I the only one who couldn't give a (insert expletive here) about GTA IV?

Couldn't see more than a couple of hours appeal in any of them, and the amount of times I've had to sit and watch people in hysterics at doing the same old thing again and again has really turned me sour towards them. The amount of hype this one has generated is quite frankly insane - it's being advertised pretty much everywhere I look, people are taking days off work etc - it's madness.

Not trying to troll, just genuinely curious if there's anyone else out there not either playing it or running around like a madman trying to find a copy.

Not too fussed myself, I'll pick up a copy when the prices are reduced (or get it second hand) but I reckon it's definitely over-hyped. Many more games I would rather play. At the moment I'm putting all my energy into keeping an eye on those Wii Fit stock alert web sites

Nah, you're probably alone. What's weird to me is that the hype machine seems to have brought a lot of people in who looked down on the previous games as ugly shallow commercial, chav-aimed, nothing but contraversy hype rubbish. And, as far as I can see so far, it's pretty much the same only prettier.

I'm not going mental trying to find a copy, but I did return a game to Boomerang Rentals yesterday in the hopes that they'll send me GTA IV today - they seem to have plenty of stock today, so fingers crossed. Thing is, I'll end up with a PS3 or Wii game that I do want if GTA isn't available, so I shant cry myself to sleep if they don't send it to me I'd like to play it, but find renting is better for me as I rarely finish games as I never have the time and really, I'm not that good at them either!

I won't be picking up GTA4 immediately either, sure I'll cave soon, but know after a few hours play I'll probably be bored. Never been a big fan of the series full stop. Still, like seeing everyone else getting mega-hyped, and managing to find early copies etc

I'm giving GTA4 a miss at the moment too. I just ain't all the excited over it. I'll wait for a cheaper copy later. Personally I'm more excited about Ninja Gaiden 2. Just over a month to wait!!

If I could have bought it at GAME at lunchtime I would have done, but as its sold out I'll leave it till the weekend - the days of me rushing around town afterwork in the hope of finding somewhere selling a game are long gone...

Amazingly, more so for working in a computer game shop, I've been able to avoid all the hype on GTA IV. I knew it was a game I was going to eventually buy so chose against looking into all the previews, videos and talk of the game. My plan was to wait for the inevitable price crash of second hand copies, something that always happens to 360 Blockbusters like Halo, but somehow the excitment caught up with me last week and I just couldn't wait for the cheap second hand ones anymore.
