nope (surprisingly) my pal had been jumped and i waded in to help him and during the 'battle of Motherwell' it was ripped from my wrist

shame as it was a lovely watch

anyway i reckon i've just trashed my wifes Ipod Mini

It was syncing and stuff prior to my computer throwing a wobbly (cpu at 100% etc) so i removed the Ipod via the USB cable (not safely) and switched the computer off

on re-connecting the IPOD is just makes a few noises and comes up with a little sad ipod icon, using the support pages at Apple it seems i need to take it to a genius bar where they will charge me to fix it, i wont be doing that since it will probably cost more than the Mini is worth

Give this a try if you haven't already:

Hold down the Menu button on the clickwheel and the center button at the same time. Hold these together for 10 seconds. This should restart the iPod mini. You’ll know the iPod is restarting when the screen changes and the Apple logo appears.

thanks pal, but it doesnt

every time i restart it, it just makes a few noises and goes to the sad ipod screen, a couple of times its went to the folder problem screen

i cant seem to get the reboot sequence thingy to work

apparently you have to restart it (menu+center) and then force it by pressing the play+center or press the rewind, fast forward+center depending on the generation

I hate car mechanics! I don't trust any of them. They're all rip-offs. They talk to you as if you know everything about cars and if you don't know what they are on about they go all patronising and cocky. Now I know as much about cars as the next guy, but if I knew everything mate I wouldn't be here paying you to do it would I!

I get the same ****e with my Gas fitter. He talks to you as if you're totally clued up on all things Gas/Boiler related, then when you're honest enough not to try & blag your way thru his convo by nodding at everything he says, & you instead ask him to explain again because u arent that clued he starts to get irritated & nasty, as if to say "oh ffs, what is wrong with inbeciles who dont know all the ins n outs of the wonders that are boiler related?!"
