I would love to see Reg D Hunter live. He has one of those voices where he could just read the label off tin of beans and I would listen.

I saw him live many years ago at the Glee Club in Birmingham. I think I was very drunk though and said "Nice meeting you again" when I went and spoke to him. Think it thoroughly confused him

I smashed up and moved over five tonnes (five!) of concrete today - absolutely bloody knackered i am. Chilling now with my feet up and with a nicely chilled beer.... so things aren't too bad.

Also... there's rumours going around that the new Zelda trailer will be shown in October so i'm super excited about that. Here's hoping!

Right, i'm off to play Portal and get my brain working. Am determined to work out room 18!

Somebody at work gave me a marrow today after I looked at their laptop. It doesn't get more random than that. :S

What do you even do with a marrow cooking wise? Do you treat it like a giant courgette?

              Comment

The classic way to cook a marrow is to chop it in half, scrap out the middle then make a filling and stuff the marrow with that before baking it in the oven.

Wow, haven't had Marrow in years. Used to grow them in the garden and down the horse field... I used to cook em by slicing off all the skin, then cutting it up into small chunks. After boiled - and with a splash of vinegar - it's yummy stuff :-p

I have butternut squash growing in the garden at the mo. Didn't even plant it, so it must have come from compost put down on the other stuff The plant is about 8' long now and has 3 so far with loads of new flowers. Delicious roasted in chunks with the skin left on.

He (Reg) was just brilliant! Really, if you get the chance to see him-DO! He's trying to get back to his stand-up roots, and thinks TV has turned him into a 'comic' as opposed to a comedian. So he put on a great show, and very funny material, so much so I can't remember it all, but there was some great stuff, like him getting arrested and fined ?50 in Amsterdam for pissing in an alley. He went on to say that he could have paid ?30 to piss on a hooker instead, and thinking that it was funny that human degradation cost less than being fined for pissing in an alley

But the other two acts, left quite a lot to be desired. Andrew Lawrence was first on and he really was awful. For starters, he had a very annoying monotone squeaky voice and sounded like the bastard child of Joe Pasquale and a stroke ridden Les Dennis. And unfortunately, his thing was to speak about something for a bit and let out a massive long monotous sentence trying to say funny things about stuff that annoyed him - v poor 2/10

Sean Hughes was ok, but he started by using the local paper as material and then spoke about national and international news which I thought was a bit lame. There were some funny though, so it wasn't all bad. And he should call himself Sean News, not Sean Hughes! 6/10

All in all, a good night, but Reg saved the night

I've a whole bunch of chillis growing in my garden now, not entirely sure if they're ripe or not which is problematic.

I think the general idea with chillies is if they're of a decent size they're fine to eat. If they're green they're mild, and if they're red they aren't.

I also have some chillies growing, albeit slowly due to our awesome summer weather.

Squeezing them should give you an idea if they are ready yet. If if they start turning from green to another colour, but they can still be ready when green.

                            As would eating one.

Yeah, we have 3 chilli plants in the window, one has 8 massive chillies on which are green, the other two have nothing we were debating wether to pick them off or not and we have eaten one already - surprisingly hot also!

Has anyone been to the south devon chilli farm? quite a fun jaunt.

Children don't care about hangovers. They just don't care.
