PvZ is up for £1.79p and weighs in at about 35mb.

Tried it out on the train and its rather excellent, can't see any core game changes from PC version other than your 'units' are now selected down the left hand side rather than from the top of the screen, and a few modes are missing off the main menu.

Graphics look excellent on the small screen, only minor concern i have is that there is a lot on the screen with smallish icons and placement zones, and being super precise with a digit is trickier than a mouse, yet to see how this effects gameplay on the more frantic levels. On Ipad this would be no issue.

    So far though looking great.

I just lost an hour to Plants vs Zombies!

      A bloody hour!!

Up to 2-2 now already, a tiny bit of slowdown when it gets crazy but nothing too major.

Merf, the touch screen doesn't affect placement in that way, if you HOLD your finger over the place you think you are putting it it brings up a grid so you can be certain before you release it into the wrong place.

Anyway, £1.79 is just a bloody outrageous price for a game of this quality, I'd have paid a tenner!!

I've been experimenting with the placement of your plants in the bog just now at work and got it sussed, plaster on my pointy finger not helping (with the game, not bog related activities).

it is a great game for the money, what with xbla, psn and the iphone I think some people lose sense of reality for what is value for money in gaming. At £1.79 for the main adventure mode this is a steal.

Think I paid the full £15 on pc for it and felt that great value for money.

Another great Popcap game, I'm finding it tough to put this down... Looks like it should last a while as well!

          Absolute steal at ?1.79.

You should be! Reading the "achievements" I realised I must never have actually completed the PC version!

God though, I can't believe the value for under £2. Even if they add all the mini-games etc, it'd still be a bargain.

1 hour, up to 2-2 and my battery down to 60%...early game of the year contender!

This is one of those games though, if it came out in a boxed form on 360 at budget price £30, I'd probably still buy it!

How is Ridge Racer Accelerated after the update?

Recently tried Infinty Gene for the first time and was blown away, that seriously is 10/10 stuff.

Away with you Jebus! I already have too many games unplayed. Don't tempt me!

Expect all my "Words with friends" moves to just be "Brains" from now on.

Seriously, how can this be £1.79 and other games be £3 and upward?

If you own an iPhone and don't buy this game, you hate all that is good in the world and you actually murder kittens and children whenever you get the opportunity.

I've got an Itouch and I've not bought it yet, does that resolve me of sin?

I have to say I've heard very good things about it, the reviews on the app page are glowing, but I know nothing about it, what's the aim of the game?

                            Comment

No, you are guilty, just not AS guilty as you may not have wi-fi wherever you might be. However, if you have wi-fi and haven't purchased it, you actively hate everything and everyone.

It's tower-defence, but I'm not a fan of that genre normally...it's hard to put my finger on what makes this so good. It's just...it's designed so brilliantly from top to bottom, it's pretty much faultless.

Zombies come from the right in numerous different forms (each with unique properties) and you plant plants using sun you collect from the sun and from sunflowers. There's more to it than that though, level 2 is set at night, so you need to use mushrooms because there is no natural sunlight to collect.

It's just a massive game as well, I've not found a single person who has played it and not liked it.

Having re-read that, I don't think I'm doing it justice...youtube would show you it a lot better than me explaining I think.

I'm with Jebus on this, check the first play thread for the pc version, it got my vote in GotY too.

just a joyous example of perfectly formed gaming, and in this case for £1.79p.

some of these iphone games really show off boxed product for the overinflated bloatware its become.
