I was hoping that with Orange (and next year Vodafone) picking up the contracts for the iPhone, we would see some price competition and a reduction in costs. Unfortunately having been on the Orange website it appears their proposed price plans from Nov 10th mirror those on O2.
Price fix anyone?

I'm in the 'waiting for the iPhone' boat here as well. No problem with going with O2 personally, but speaking to a mate at work apparently the 3G network is better with Orange (And betterer again with T-Mobile, I assume they'll merge networks at some point) so I'm thinking it might be worth waiting for them.
Can anyone recommend cases and replaceement headphones with mic for the iPhone. No idea on cases (Want it to be protective without being too obstructive ideally), but I've been looking at the Bose headphones. I can't stand the quality of the Apple headphones.
EDIT: Eep, didn't realise Orange were releasing next week!
EDIT2: Hmm, Orange have a limited monthly download (750MB, not sure if this is a lot for iPhone usage?) where as far as I can see O2 don't.Last edited by Number45; 02-11-2009, 13:42.

Bought mine from Play.com BTW.

that tempting i just bought a 32gb 3gs in sexy black!!..
spoke to t-mobile as my contract is up shortly.... he then told me that they offer the 3g 36 quid a month 800 mins/600 texts but only to existing customers who want to leave.. and then carried on about O2 network not being able to offer the speeds that the 3gs is capable of... was he giving a load of bull?...
I just told them to cancel my contract when it is up anyway, I was very dissappointed with the guy on the phone his skills in retaining existing customers suck..

Indeed a lad that works for me used to work in an O2 store and one of the more common complaints he had to deal with from new customers was regarding poor 3G coverage. Hopefully (fingers crossed) when the proposed merge of O2 and Vodafone networks goes through (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/03...afone_network/) all will be well.
