      A staff night out.

      - Badly organised (who the hell wants to start eating at 9pm when it's work the next day?);
      - Boring people (if I wanted to socialise with a chosen few outside of work, I would all year round. This just ruins a Christmas build-up night);
      - Dreadful venue (overpriced food and drink that I don't like).

      Not my people, not my type of scran, not my type of scene, and definitely not my type of prices. I got some right hacky looks when I stood up to leave at ten to 11, but I had good reasons for doing so, and besides those I couldn't tolerate it any longer.

      My idea of a good staff night out would be just me going to a decent pub for nice tasting, cheap grub and great drinks. Not farting around some ****e restaurant with a bog full of turds.

        We've got Hilton tomorrow for our work night. £55 a head which is a farce of a price for what you get compared to other deals with proper good private hotels around here. Plus I'm gonna be sat at the table all night with my crutches so it's gonna be quite a boring one for a lot of money. Not looking forward to it either.

                lol, the last time I organised a Christmas work do, I took everyone to a ?10 a head chinese. It was great because everyone was chilled about the price and so had a good time. I also sneaked a ?1 lottery scratchcard into a cracker for each person for a bit of fun - otherwise crackers are always pants.

                  Best work do I've been to was this Summer - all expenses paid weekend at the Metropole in Brighton with 300 other people, with "It's a knockout" stuff during the day on Saturday and proper party people in the evenings.

                    Random guy - "We've bought our Son a DS Lite for Christmas and we were told to get him one of those (and I quote) '4R' cards for it so we can get our games for free"

                    Me - "Sorry Sir, those are illegal and we can't talk about those".

                    Random guy - "Oh, really? Where can I get one from then?"

                    Like I'm going to openly discuss how you can help support piracy! Muppet!

                      WTF? Which part of "we can't talk about those" did he not understand!?

                        My work's Christmas thingy was great. My friend bought all my drinks and I staggered half way home and couldn't take it anymore so paid for a taxi the rest of the way but don't remember being in the taxi.

                          My xmas do thingy was good. Went to a bar which did Thai food and it's probably the nicest Thai I've ever had. Got nicely drunk but managed to avoid embarrassing myself.

                              It was the leaving do for the boss as well. I agreed to it around the time I was trying to get a pay rise off her. I got it, but it came back to haunt me in the guise of a staff night out.

                              Anyway, new development, with WIN involved.

                              The boss decided to foot the whole bill, so I got my money handed back this morning. Excellent!
