Walking casually into town to the shops past the pile ups of cars with people driving into town for the sales

Sorting out paperwork. I've spent the last couple of hours scanning statements, receipts, mortgage and endowment details etc. and next to me I have a bin liner full of paperwork that no longer needs to be in my house.

Sorry, FSW. This is the smile thread. You need the irk thread.

Well, it's an irk that's turned into a smile!

Yeah, some things go that way. Maybe 'sorting out paperwork' might be an irk while 'having sorted out paperwork' is a smile?

I had a carriage all to myself on the bullet train from Tokyo to Osaka last time I was there. Three hours in a carriage that had rotating seats. You press a foot pedal and swivel them so you can have pairs of seats facing each other or all facing the same direction, like this:

I turned all the seats around more than once. Almost every time the staff walked through they were arranged differently

I had a friend I hadn't spoken to for years because I'd moved to London, and she'd lost her phone, so I had no idea what her number was or why she wasn't replying to my texts, and she had no idea what my number was. I'm home for a couple of days, and this morning I was in Asda - she was at the next checkout across. This is kind of amazing, that in a city of 170,000 people I'd bump in to the one person I wanted to get back in touch with.

I completed my childhood today. Bought Bigtrak. I asked for this for three years running from Santa and the fecker ignored me every time. Well now it's mine. All mine. Take that, Santa!

It's totally retro. Like commanding that little turtle in BASIC (what was that called?).

                    That is awesome.

Dogg: Do you mean this thing? Had em at my old Primary school so might be newer than what you are thinking of (no offense intended!).

It was a version of that, yes! Earlier I'd say, more mechanical looking - Logo was the name I was looking for.

                        Logo! I loved that.

Holy sweet Jesus, just had my first hit of green in over six years!!!!

Was partially expecting some kind of megas-paras-psychosis bomb, instead my brain feels like a bombful of fruity fizziness.

Even using my old, 2001-era 'Jabba Pipe'. Too f*cking sweeeet.

I wish we still had the old style chocolate orange boxes, not the soulless ones we have now

On the plus side, I'm done working in about 25 minutes and then I'm off home for some gaming

I can't actually remember them looking any different
