To all those criticising the police response what you have to understand is that the police are not free to do what they want. There are very strict rules and regulations that curtail why they can and can't do. They are doing the best they can under such limitations.As strongly as you may feel about the situation try to imagine what those emotions must feel like in the chest of people who dedicate their lives to trying to make society a safer place rather than sitting on the sideline.

Obviously there are, armchair experts everywhere you look these days.Lack of investment plus heavyweight procedures designed to protect these peoples civil liberties are the problem here not the officers.

It's quite amusing that the BBC championed internet technology and social networking during all these arab uprisings saying how good it was. Letting people coordinate protests and get round various barriers put in place by their governments. It's certainly worked well here too.

They keep playing that on Five Live, it's infuriating. They don't know why the **** they're rioting.

"We're doing it against the government or summat!"
"YEAH! The conservatives or whoever it is!"

Then basically say they're doing it because they can get away with it, which is what we all knew anyway.
