"journalist" is a bit overstated no?

For either of them, yeah. Quite a hot topic among them all at the moment. It gets quite tedious, though. I preferred it when games journalists were just a bunch of spotty kids and enthusiasts that didn't try to grapple with the art debate.

Most games 'journalists' basically just regurgitate press releases.

The whole 'Gut Check' thing on Kotaku is ridiculous. A review of a game where you deliberately don't play it properly? Great. That's bound to give some real insight.

I have noticed that increasingly. Regurgitating press releases. So many people on YouTube doing the same thing. Where is the interest in that?

Anyway, Nier's scores taught me that lots of people don't know anything about video games.

2 or 3 titles from completing my Gamecube collection (to no particular degree but my own goal), I realise I don't enjoy collecting them and am already planning to sell all but my most favourite. I don't play / have no interest in playing the games I buy now - which feels utterly ridiculous, because my intention was to collect all the GC games that I wanted to play - and there's probably just as many (if not more) unplayed as played in my collection of nearing 90 titles. The only thing keeping my spending money on this habit which I used to enjoy is the fact that I've spent so much money since mid-2011 on it that I'd be kicking myself to stop now. Still, I've got 3 left that I want to get just to sit on the shelf - once I've done that, no more. There won't be any more shelf space, lol.

The best part about that article is that the intern is the only one that writes about how the game actually plays.

Oh, but wait. It's a "gut check". Because you'd trust a games journalist to judge a game without playing it properly, right?

At least they're honest about their total ineptness at producing a genuine review, unlike some publications who write pages and pages of drivel about a game like they've played it but OH NO WAIT... they haven't.

I have the same irk and I'm 39, so you're not the worst. Hint: Don't spend seven years with a woman you know doesn't want kids.

Ah right, I understand. To be honest they're quite uninteresting titles: Wario World, Mario Party 4 and Sonic Heroes (although depending on what quality some titles I ordered from CEX turn out like, I may need some replacements on top of that). All three are ones I've been telling myself to get for over a year but just never really got round to due to lack of interest.

Haha, thanks for the offer Kryss - it'd save me hassle if you could, but you needn't worry as none of those titles are too expensive on the 'bay.

At 18 years old, having kids is not high up on my list of wants at all that said I'm already an uncle, and my 4y/o nephew is one funny guy.
