Excellent, last time I got made redundant my employer paid me a month for every full years service, I am going back 12 years now though.

from rumours i have heard its going to be either 4 or 5 weeks wages for every year i have been there (i have been there 6 years) but it will not be taxed (and taxes take a massive chunk of money every month)

Kamen rider DX belts get me all giddy when i see them they are literally 100% tv accurate as they use the same ones on the show. Love watching them activate

Must resist spending an obscene fortune.

Spending 3 weeks fine tuning the new PC to best optimise performance on various software before realising it was still defaulting to its onboard GPU rather than the GeForce 770 installed. Changed that and by the power of Grayskull, nothing can stop it now.

The savvy user would disable onboard GPU in BIOS.

                  Superman Fails

But glad you sorted it! Things like that happen sometimes and you kick yourself but you'll never make that mistake again. I'd assume connecting your monitor to the new card and getting a blank screen would've been the first sign something wasn't quite right so was the 770 acting as a pass-through for the onboard graphics?

The monitor was what was throwing me off I think. No matter how I connect the screen to the PC everything displays fine, most games don't list the GPU your using either. However one or two came up with the option and it wasn't listing the 770 which raised questions. A quick wire rejig and some tinkering in the NVidia config and it's now defaulted. I'll have to have a look at the BIOS as there's little point in the onboard running as the 770 is a massive step up from what's standard on board.

I've never known that to happen but I've been out of the PC game for a long time.

                      One thing to try:

Go to Device Manager, click View and choose 'view by connection'. Then try and find your monitor and it should show the graphics card it's connected to. View by connection is really handy when you're troubleshooting certain things(e.g. to find out which internal USB hub your mouse is connected to).

(sorry, my machine isn't in English!)

Going camping today! Already decided which knife I'm going to bring - Ka-bar Becker BK7 of course!
Food is going to be a disaster*, so I'm covering the eventual failure with granola bars and tikka masala flavoured snacks.

*We're bring beef shish kebabs, bacon and probably trying to stuff some mushrooms.

What flavour humans do black bears eat?!

All flavours! I've been marinading for hours ready.

Thinking outside the box (sort of):

The stereo in my car will display album art but only if it's embedded into the track and only if connected via USB.
For tracks on a USB it displays the folder structure which means that I'd have to have everything organised like artist->album which doesn't work for compilations or if more than one artist is present. Sometimes I want to just choose an album to play.

So, only real solution is an iPod. I have an iPod classic but the little hole next to the USB port to put the player into is too small to contain it fully and only about half fits in. Seems extravagant to buy another smaller iPod just because this one doesn't fit tidily. So, the solution is to buy a faulty iPod nano for ?3 off eBay. I don't need the buttons to work, as long as it connects to iTunes and the dock connector works then I'm good to go. Sweet! (unless I've overlooked something). Also found a 12cm iPod cable so I don't have a metre of spare cable dangling about!
