Arriving home from work with a bag of shopping, I couldn't find my key.
Turns out I'd left the key in the front door in the morning. Madness. The door was locked so all I'd had to do was remove the key and put it in my pocket but for whatever reason I hadn't.
Being glad I'm in Japan, I entered my flat and found nothing untoward. Heading to the kitchen area, I noticed a beeping sound: I'd left the freezer door open a bit. The stuff inside was mostly fine but things near the top had defrosted a bit. But at least I've solved the mystery of how a bunch of ice lollies mysteriously melted a few months ago!
