Slowly plodding through Kingdom Come by J.G. Ballard...seems like the same book as Millenium People at the moment, only not as good.

Just about to start No Country For Old Men, prior to seeing the film.

Been reading lots of History recently so nothing to exciting. Just got through Hobsbawms 'The Age of Extremes' which was very good.

On the other hand, picked up a copy of Kafka on the Shore today for a change of pace - haven't read a Murakami in ages so I'm looking forward to getting stuck into it later.

The Big E has written some great books, and his 'Age' books are very readable indeed.

"Kitchen Confidential" by Anthony Bourdain. Nearly finished now, superb autobiographical work from Bourdain about how he became a chef, his drug issues, all kinds of crazy stuff. Fantastic book especially if, like me, you are a fan of the culinary arts. Bourdain is a legend, always loved his tv shows as well.

Chart Throb by Ben Elton. I have always enjoyed his books and this is no different - a cracking read that is well written, funny and hard to put down. If you have an ounce of hate for reality TV, you should read this

Does he still use the word 'farty'?

Coming to the end of The Subtle Knife, most of the way through Thailand Confidential too. Looking forward to The Amber Spyglass, will be reading that in Amsterdam.

Only read the above and 'On History' so I'm a bit behind. Will bring his work on the 19th century with me when I'm away next month though. He definitely does talk a lot of sense, as he's often praised for.

I should be reading "World War Z" by Max Brooks, but I've hardly read it recently. I really should get back into it as I've got two Stephen King novels to start.

Just finished 'Actual Innocence' by Barry Scheck who got 'fame' as one of OJ's lawyers, he was the one with the real strong Brooklyn accent.

The book is all about getting guys released from death row using DNA evidence to prove they were innocent.

A good read and maybe a sign of the times when these guys were originally put away but most of them are black.

I finally finished Magic Kingdom For Sale/Sold! by Terry Brooks last week & really, really enjoyed it, so I've just picked up The Black Unicorn (second book of the Landover series) from my local library.

Not sure if it's been mentioned in this thread, but does everyone buy their books or borrow them from their local library? Most of my novels come from the library as I'd run out of space if I bought every book that I fancied.
