That's not what I heard, but I suppose they could be. Anyway, if that is the case then what's the problem? Just go for it.

Chemists have them of course. But DUDE. Beware. Condoms in Japan come in a variety of sizes. BUY THE BIGGEST ONES YOU CAN FIND. I **** you not. I was trying to be modest, and only bought the second largest, because the next one up HAD A PICTURE OF A GODDAMN HORSE ON THE BOX. The ones I picked broke from being too small (I think they were Extra Extra Large or something. Yeah right).

Sasami (i think that's the brand) are latex-free if you ever need those.
You can even get condoms in Shop99, but I don't think that's the best idea ever. Adult Shop M's is a good place to get an assortment.
I just bought Durex, which are EXACTLY the same size as back home, until we figured out the wife's irritation was caused by latex.

Always bring ones from home now.

Still no luck with the condoms. Tried two different drug stores, one simply didn't sell them, the other one did have some (after ages of searching)... but alas, gaijin-friendly ones. There was one labelled as 'large', but I am now too paranoid to risk them. And no mystical condoms with the horse on them. I even asked the lovely cashier girl if they has any more, but no luck. Looks like I'm going to have to get some on the internet...
I hear it's customary for girls to keep a stock of condoms over here. Seems pretty strange given guys are different sizes.
