I wouldn't say Reina was a poor keeper. I think he's rather smashing tbh.

He's a good shot stooper and thats it, He's rubbish on set peices and corners.

Its sad I have many mates that are Liverpool fans , and I would love to see them try and challenge of the title , but with Benitez you've no chance.

I mean 17 million for Mascherano , You couldn't make it up , its a utter joke , jus like the player

Javier Mascherano is a great player. He also is not costing £17m in the way that most people mean that. I know it is fun to beat Benitez signings but his big ones this season have been
a) very good - FT and JM have been excellent all season,
b) cheaper than most people seem to think. Mascherano is costing us £17m over his contract inclusive of his salary. No other football fee is mentioned with this so why is Javier's? For example, when Hargreaves joined for a similar amount, nobody said he cost £25m (17 + salary), they said 17. Torres is always quoted by lazy journalists at £26.5m but we said he was £20m.

Reina - I am not convinced he is that good a shot stopper actually. Generally in the big games we concede very few chances and then concede goals anyway. I think he can read the game well sometimes but he benefits from a well formed defence (yes, that is with a "C" everybody - we are in the UK) but rarely keeps us in the game. It seems that if we have 3/4 shots on target against us, we will concede 2. Look at how many we needto get on target to score usually.

Indeed, Mash cost about ?10m and Torres about ?16m cash + Luis Garcia.

Last night made me cry at one point... he made a great run through the middle of the park, like a train, then swiftly laid it off to Ashley Cole. We were quite sloppy on the ball last night. A lot of long balls being picked up by Chelsea with ease. I would rather we passed like Barca at times than rely on, what sometimes look like blind hope long balls

We should ahve won by 2 or more at Anfield.

I think Rafa will be there next season. This is a young team and I genuinely think we will be a force next season.

Babel is getting better by the game and a couple of decent players will sort us out.

To be fair to Ste, I think Makelele dealt with him pretty well, especially in the 1st half.

I don't see any big signings a-la Alves. Think we might struggle for cash in the summer.

Is that the final where Dietmar Hamann came on and made the biggest difference? But because he isn't a superstar or local lad he wasnt credited with the impact he truly made?

Gerrard did definitely win brilliantly against West Ham with that goal, but there is never any way you can say he just about won the champions league final. There was so much more to it than that.

Anyway, you cant doubt Gerrard's quality but for the last month or so he has been lacklustre.

I am not saying he isn't a quality player but he doesn't do the business when it matters too often.

Keane always played him off the pitch...as did Vieira. Anderson and Fabragas were all over him more recently.

I love him as much as anyone but it frustrates me that he can be stifled so easily at times.

Who would yers like to see added (and subtracted) from the squad over the summer?

It's looking like we'll finally off-load Kewell soon, and sounds like Riise could be on his way out along with Crouch. Will Carson finally get sold?

I'd also like to see Xabi Alonso go. That may not sit well with some, but he's just been far inconsistent for me. We could cash-in pretty well with him too.

God knows how much money we'll have to spend on top of any we make on selling players, but one can dream...

We can all dream about a Liverpool Fantasy Football team, but realistically really haven't a clue how much money will be spent and who on.

Like you say, can't see Crouch, Kewell and Riise playing for us next season.

PS. this forum is Man U heavy due to them all worrying over not winning at Wigan at the weekend
