Don't be a twat, it was a genuine question.

One of our players got booked for "passing on information" as it was "influencing the game", it was a sub, it wasn't allowed.

I've never noticed a sub placing the ball for a corner to be taken quickly before, I was wondering if there was any rule for/against it, I assumed there must be because of the aforementioned booking in a different game.

Either way, I'd be amazed if people didn't believe that the top teams don't get the rub of the green.

Then again, I don't know why I expected anything other than this kind of response.

Mind you, I actually lolled at the comment on us being known for "putting it about a bit". We've not been that team for well over 2 years, we're pushovers now, we USED to do that, but I suppose **** sticks.

I've nothing against Liverpool by the way, apart from Gerrard (who I absolutely cannot stand) and now Lucas.

Jebus, I didn't see it or know about the incident you bring up. I don't know the rules about it. If I had seen it, then I don't think I would of thought it as being wrong. Seeing how we won, I'm sorry, but I can't bring myself to care about it.

I leave you to sit in your piss being angry with Gerrard and Lucas. BO!

As I said, I'd expect no different.

haha, cheer up, Charlie. We've all been on the end of feeling cheated moments. I remember when Torres scored on his debut against Chelsea. Chelsea got a pen for apparently a foul on Malouda. Clearly was not, more like a foul on (if I remember correctly) Agger.

In all honesty, I don't think we cheated. Reckon even without a Lucas hand gesture, he would have gone anyway. You played pap. We played pap, but where doing nearly all the attacking. So, deserved a win.

Doesn't matter if you deserved it. At 11 vs 11 Bolton were winning and Gerrard was where? A dodgy decision handed you the game. FACT.

Don't be so bitter mate. You are crap.

Set pieces aside it was a massively one sided affair as far as possession and passing is concerned (i.e the actual football).
Bolton only played 122 passes in the entire 90 mins, even taking into account the period of having 10 v 11, that is donkey football.

Well in Lucas btw, Gerrard aside we are too nice, time to start bullying teams.

I would fully agree with the putting the boot in a bit idea if we could defend set pieces at the minute, as it stands i think we should employ a basketball no contact approach!

Seriously though, i'm sure teams ( especially the top ones ) are now tactically aware of taking advantage of zonal marking and although i don't want to criticise Benitez' tactics sometimes a change is as good as the rest.

I struggle to recall a time in recent history when we've looked so fragile at the back ( probably back when Traore played left back ).

The 2nd goal against us was an absolute shocker from a defending perspective. Bolton had about 4 players in the 6 yard area and our defenders were outside it?!?!?!

Not convinced this win has helped us turn the corner, and the lack of activity in the transfer market or even getting in a player on loan has me slightly nervous for the the season or until at least the Jan (?) transfer window.

If Torres gets injured our backup striker is Veronin/Ngog or Babel - blimey, where's the goals coming from from that lot ???

Probably our best backup striker (tho' not proven in the senior team, which says it all really!) is Nemeth, and he's been sent out on a season long loan!?!

                    In Rafa we trust !?!

                    Comment

Nemeth has undoubted quality, but I'd never want to try and blood him in a situation where Torres is injured and the pressure is upon him to score goals. Voronin clearly isn't good enough with plan to win the league, but last season neither were the backup strikers we had.

Other than a dodgy haircut, I've never been entirely sure what poor old Andriy has done wrong really. Before he busted his ankle he did quite well. He's not a number 9, but as a second striker I think he's looked lively in his cameos so far and in pre-season.

The way people go on about the lad you'd think we paid ?78 million pounds for him from Barcelona not a free transfer from Leverkusen.

                        Comment

Yeah I agree with you there Sharkskin, you cant expect the world from somebody like him. He isnt a terrible second striker. I think the main concern is not at the fact Voronin is ok, but that Liverpool dont have any classy strikers outside of Torres. There is a big gulf between Liverpool's second string strikers and Torres.

But, if they cant spend the money to purchase somebody then that will always be the case.

                          Comment

As much as I dislike him for going over to the dirty mancs, Owen on a free was a no brainer for me. If we go on the premise that Torres will get injured at some point during the season, what we have as a back-up is seriously lacking in quality.

I think Rafa may have shot himself in the foot with his unwillingness to bring him back (allegedly Owen was up for a return).

Maybe Kuyt and Babel as an up front pairing?!?

                            Comment

I back Rafa completely with regard to his decision with Michael Owen. Twice he ****ed Rafa about so its his own fault. Babel has been terrible in the two games I've seen him so far, he looks devoid of any ideas to try and get past players. His shooting is also dire at the moment, maybe its his choice of shots but that cutting in from the left has maybe worked twice in the last 2 seasons.

With young players its a gamble. But if Gerrard and Kuyt can both contribute with similar totals as last year and we get Johnson/Aquinlani putting a few away we may be ok if/when Torres is laid off for a week or two.

                              Comment

I still think Owen is past it. He gets incredibly amounts of hype from the pundits during a game but he's not really done anything so far that a large portion of strikers in the premier league wouldn't be able to easily do (or even do better). I think a 1/4 goal tally at most is likely.

Incidentally, Lots of speculation about Robben going to Liverpool. He had 1 amazing season for Chelsea but got easily shaken up by dodgy tackles (not helped by this becoming well known and players intentionally 'roughing him up').
