Just to chime in here, both me and my dad when we've travelled up to Liverpool have found it to one of the most intimidating places to go as an away supporter. Not from the crowd noise but the general hostile atmosphere. You feel threatened in a way that you don't anywhere else.

As for hatred of fans, I dislike Liverpool's fans as a group but I've no ill feelings towards the individuals.

Maybe you had "horrid scalls" already built-up in your head. Saying that, I have this in my mind when I walk down the street lol. Black hooders, black trackies, black trainers, black gloves. It's ninja chic here at the moment. Like that in any other cities?

I do still love the city. I think if it wasn't for the massive student population though, going into town for a night out would be scary.

Your whole post is full of fail. You go on about how I don't know you yet you make assuptions about me? Just because I live in Bmth doesn't mean I am from there, just because I am posting in this thread doesn't mean I am a fan of Liverpool and I know plenty of everton fans. Pretty much everyone from every race in the world and every city in the UK live in this town and I know many of them simply due to my job which involves sports.

I am certainly not denying things that you have said have happened are bad but to fill yourself with hatred is pretty sad and very backward. Also these people are not really football fans and never will be, they are simply thugs.

If you love your club so much (not aimed at you) getting caught with your shirt on in a fight with someone laying on the floor covered in blood in not an image any club wants to see in the news.

It just shows how pathetic human beings can be. Fighting over a game we can all play ourselves.

Its not too bad here but there are no-go areas. We are getting more murders than ever before and some are right on the doorstep. I am lucky I live in a nice peaceful part but my work is on a pretty dodgy strip.
I got spat at last week and someone tried to kick my head in for literally no reason at all.

            Bloody hell. That's horrid.

Dunno, could be. Don't really feel anything like it when I go to old trafford though or other big grouns. It could be I'm so knackered climbing the 20 flights of stairs to the seats for the away supporters there I'm too tired to care though.

I bugs me when pundits say stuff like 'Everyone in the kop is on their feet! You don't see that anywhere else!'. That's because every other club will chuck you out if you don't sit down!

This is a really uncultured backwards city, but to me Everton typify this city. When I think of local scum, I think of an Everton fan.
Let me guess - you wrote the draft bid that helped the city win this.

Yeah its not so often luckily and despite my small frame I am pretty good at dealing with people like that.

Anyway lets get this topic back to actual football I think.

Otherwise? You make it sound like that isn't already the case.
After the shennigans outside Anfield earlier this season I'm actually quite worried about the match at OT in March.

As for Liverpool, there definitely is a problem with the street corner ninja-scalls that hoolak mentioned and coked up meat-heads in town, but a lot of areas are like that in the UK. It's no different in Manchester or Leeds etc in my experience.
The atmosphere at the derby is definitely getting more poisonous every year though imo.

Kop sits for every game except Everton, United and European games where there is a kind of unspoken agreement with the stewards to let us stand.

Dunno how the ref missed Fabregas' hand ball at the end there though.

Poor performance from both sides in terms of playing decent football, but I thought we did enough to get a draw. Nothing to get excited or worried about.

Nope, the Majority. Source: Sat in Goodison during the clattenburg derby and heard 90 minutes of it. Also, I know Everton fans. They are all snides, even the ones who are nice 99% of the time. They talk behind your back and make the insults about Gerrard's kids etc behind your back.

You're making the mistake of paying that lot far too much respect, respect which (the ones who aren't you best-mates and family) they won't give you I'd wager.

PS the the next poster.. been down to London in the pubs when a Liverpool match is on mate yeah. Loads of Liverpool fans there that's right. Going down this weekend actually for 3 days, I go every 2 months or so. gutted we aren't playing this weekend.

Where did i say I fight? You are the one failing mate, not me. I didn't say that. I just said I hated Everton fans and have had lots of general trouble off them in the past. All of it started by them. And the ante is always upped to breaking point with mates from the pub around derby day.

So you're not from Bournemouth but you're not a Liverpoool fan either. Ok, so i care a bit less about what you think now. You don't know what you're talking about as far as a Liverpool-Everton rivalry within the city so it doesn't really matter. We'll just leave it at that like. This isn't the moral highground it's football fans and grown men who detest eachother's side arguing over their teams. Not clever but that's just the way it has to be so this is how we live. I avoided any confrontation with them for years best i could, but they started to take the piss around 2004/2005 time. And I give it back now and also because we beat them every time I back up what i say by the team going out and beating them. Can't stand them.
