Not that I'm trying to knock him or anything, I think he's a decent guy and a decent manager.

But because he is flavour of the month (x10 because he is English) some of the press are probably getting a little carried away.

That I agree with Shark, its basically the same as to when they all jumped upon the Rafa bandwagon. Obviously that was negative though.

I'd like to think the club can get the managerial thing sorted because Friday but I dont think that'll happen. Which then means waiting till after the World Cup, I imagine. Especially seeing as Hodgson will be in SA doing a spot of punditry.

Seems like such a outworldly gesture for somebody so wrongly painted as "cold and detached" by the vast majority of the scum that continues to masquerade as the English sporting press.

I wonder if idiots like Henry Winter will even bother to report this? A penny for Mark Lawrenson's thoughts, considering his deeply irresponsible comments about Rafa & Hillsborough earlier this season? No doubt the likes of Andy Gray will turn around and say that it's a publicity stunt...

Looks like Benayoun has been sold off to Chelski then, most likely he's instigated the move away, I'm not sure. 6m is the rumored fee, which is crazy cheap for one of our 1st team players.

I have to say I'm gutted if it is true I don't think since McManaman we've had a better dribbler of the ball than Benny, he's the kind of player we've relied on to make things happen the past year or two.

Still, if it means Pacheco is pushed to the fore in his place, then it's not all doom and gloom. Is this the first of our "player clearout" this summer?

He clearly stated he wanted to leave the club. Rats leaving a sinking ship and all that.

If any player doesn't want to be at Liverpool then let them leave. There is no use trying to hang onto players who aren't interesting in fighting for the cause.

Also, I'm shocked there has been nothing concrete on the manager's position. Really surprises me they haven't moved to pick Hodgson up when, according to almost the entire football press he is interested and Liverpool are too.

A. Our new Chairman is a lifelong Chelsea fan and season ticket holder and
B. We don't have a manager, so who is deciding which players to sell here?

Heh, that would be kind of hilarious if the American's last stunt was to install a Chelsea fan who managed to sell the best players at the club to Chelsea.

Benayoun wanted to go a while back. I dont rate him as highly as some of you do, but I'll say again. If he wants to leave, let him be. Sitting on the bench at Chelsea ain't gonna make him any happier.

I'm hearing that Roy Hodgson is now our new Manager. What do you think of Roy as our new manager?

He hasn't been unveiled yet, has he?

Its all rumour at the moment but its looking more likely by the day. I think having a manager who can use the players he already has at his disposal could be crucial. I think Hodgson is one of those managers. After last season heads need lifting and belief needs to be instilled.

Lets hope he can do it. Lets also hope he can get lotsa money for the inevitable move of Mascherano and maybe Gerrard.
