Which was really the point I was trying to make, that (in simple terms) Reina walking out on a long contract to leave Liverpool would be just the same as Carroll walking out on a long contract to join Liverpool. So you couldn't really hate Reina if he did it yet welcome Carroll when he'd done the same thing.

Anyway, at least if Reina leaves you'll get some money. Imagine one of your star players, perhaps your only good player at the time, running down their contract and then joining your biggest rivals for free! Can't think of an example of that though...

Funny, I thought football fans are supposed to stick to a club through thick and thin. Sounds to me like hatred of Man Utd is worth more than your love of Liverpool.

I think you've got the wrong end of the stick. He would be so displeased with the idea of Reina playing for Man U that he'd end up quitting following Liverpool mainly because of the fact a player could move to Liverpool's most bitter rivals.

Basically he would become so disillusioned with modern players that he would stop following Liverpool.

Thats not hard to understand. Its nothing to do with hatred.

But surely if you support a team then it should be under any condition? What the players and staff etc decide to do should be irrelevant. Every proffesional has their hopes and dreams, only diehard locals are likely to stay with one club. Foreign players are more likely than any to move to rival clubs.

That has always happened in football and you just stop supporting or liking the player in question , just like Man Utd fans did for say Paul Ince, or in some cases for Carlos Tevez. You still support and back ones Club though

That's why I have respect for some of fans of the lower league clubs: Fans that will always seen their best player move on the better things and go to most games knowing a win is all but impossible, but they still turn up and support the Club, The term Die-Hard did hard fans was invented for such fans

I know and I agree with it.

Poor display from a poor team. Can't wait for the season to end then we can get rid of dead wood.

But will the owners give them the money for 3-4 new players?

Even if Liverpool are frugal and get good money for the players they let go, it'd be a 20mill plus net spend.

Today was poor. West Ham's three man midfield ran the entire game. Lucas and Gerrard struggled for the entire game whilst Suarez and Kuyt pretty much offered nothing up top.

Demba Ba was very good, imo, he made the defender's toil the entire time he was on the pitch. He reminded me of Drogba when he made Carragher, Skrtel and Wilson flounder at times. He could be a very good signing for West Ham if he improves and remains consistent.

Shame to see Kelly and Meireles go off injured, could dictate how the team play now they join Agger, Aurelio and Carroll on the sidelines. I think Agger is one of the biggest misses today, his ability to play the ball out makes a massive difference when the team play the system they did today.

Gerrard gave away just over 1/3 of all his passes and only made 2 tackles in 90 minutes. Looked fat and unfit, shouldn't have gone straight back in to the side - Dire.

It's quite clear to see our four wins on the bounce were just papering over the cracks. Still, it's always hard to not get carried away after a few wins. I just hope Arsenal can win the league and Spurs get 4th. I'd be content with that this season.

There has been genuine improvement I think, but you can only do so much I guess.

The lack of pace is a real issue, playing Kelly and Johnson further up the pitch helps a bit out wide (Kelly is unusually quick for a big lad) but the middle of the pitch is full of players plodding around.

And all we've got on the bench is Joe "Sausage Dinner with curry sauce please mate" Cole, who looks like he is about to die after about 6 minutes of running about.

Quite worried what Carroll coming in to the side will do to Carragher. I can't see him being able to resist the 80 yard punts.

I think when Agger plays the team are much more comfortable to play football from the back. Carragher, surely, as a Liverpool player for so long understands the request of playing out from the back rather than punting it in hope.

For me, the lack of pace isn't a real issue when you have players who are capable of knocking it about quickly and precisely. I think Maxi is the kind of player to highlight what I mean. When he plays out wide he may not beat players but he is involved in short sharp passing moves. Generally they flow through Lucas, Maxi and Meireles but on Sunday with the 3 man midfield of West Ham the team never got started.

I have to say though, the idea that after the West Ham defeat its all doom and gloom is a bit dramatic. Yes, the squad could do with improving and yes there are players who need replacing but the team under Dalglish has shown what they are capable of. Some days you are beaten by the team who simply play better. Dont discount the injuries before and during the game or the fitness of the players after a tough game on Thursday night.

Joe Cole wouldnt have curry sauce on his sausage dinner btw, he is from London.

Will there either be an easier hat trick than that?

                            Lollersome.

                              Congratulations Dirk!

Reckon we can say the Prem League won't even faze Suarez. He looks ace.
