He is worth 50m easily. Never loses the ball and has far more strength than you would think. He is top notch.

I think its testament to Liverpool's midfield that whilst players of Modric and Bale's quality were playing and have recently been in good form they didn't do too much last night.

Lucas, a defensive player now, also finds himself in advanced positions at times during games gospvg, not too advanced to be unable to get back and get in front of the defence. Lucas is a player who can play decent football all day but try anything a bit more creative and he struggles. Spearing isn't as good as Lucas but he plays the same kind of role.

As stroppy said, he's deceptively strong and rarely loses the ball, you can pass to him when he's surrounded by three players and he's very likely to hold them off and find a team-mate.

He gives the team forward impetus. A lot of people complain about players who pass backwards and sideways, but Modric is always looking for the forward pass to keep us moving up the pitch. A lot of our attacking moves are started by Modric spotting a pass that bypasses a good chunk of the opposition, breaking through their lines of defence and releasing Bale, VdV, Lennon, etc., to do their thing.

He doesn't mind getting involved defensively either and is good at tackling and disrupting the opposition when we're under the kosh. He could do with improving his shooting a bit, but he has started to do that a little this season, as I'm sure Liverpool remember from WHL earlier this season

All about opinions though, and I hope that everyone thinks Modric is **** so nobody tries to buy him and he stays at Spurs for many years to come!

Very true, we'd scored in 22 matches running in the Premier League until Monday night, the reason we didn't was down to Liverpool playing well.

I just thought tottenham looked like a different team than usual. They didnt push on, and on too few occasion played keep ball, like we know they can/usually do.

Liverpool were the usual maximum effort, but still tottenham were very lacklustre in every way other than defensively.

We were missing 3 key players though. A good point I thought. And probably the fairest result.

Well done, boys. Good cup final. Cardiff were unlucky and Liverpool seemed to have their boots on the wrong feet at times.

Strange game today. Liverpool certainly dominated but showed a lack of poise in front of goal. Suarez is the only class act on the pitch (outfield) and it really shows. Kuty did put another blinder in though.
