Luis garcia made mistakes, yes. but he added a lot and, if he was played high up enough (ie up front) then the eroors were far far outweighed by the tricks and running off the ball. Quality player and will be missed - I never thought I'd say that about him cos I also thought him a bit wasteful. He has it where it counts.

I don't agree.

Yes, his quality moments were spectacular, but he was so frustrating to watch, especially in the Prem. I've never, ever seen a "flair" player so bloody careless with the ball in posession.

And let's face it, if he was a truly top player then Barca wouldn't have let him leave, surely? He is a Catalan, after all.

Shame to see Luis Garcia go, he will be missed Never has such an inconsistent player made such a difference. We would never have won the Champions League in 2005 without his goals against Leverkusen, Juventus and Chelsea, and for that he'll always have a special place in my memory.

On a side note, I knew we'd bloody sell him as I had his name on my Liverpool shirt last season. I so nearly went with Alonso too....

Just got back from the friendly this afternoon against Wrexham. 1st half was great with Pennant setting up some Austrian lad with a hat trick. the second half was absolute ****e I'm not afraid to say. It was 95% the under 21's.
Final score was....

2-3

Very quick, very direct, eye for goal. He is fairly short and slight though.

I saw him play in a pre-season game LAST season (against Cardiff I think it was, I can't remember) and I thought he was the best youngster on the pitch. I think he scored too actually and I thought he'd actually break through into the 1st team for maybe the Carling Cup but obviously he's not quite ready for that yet. Fingers crossed he'll give you a good season at Swansea

Dude - I've been hoping and praying for sometime that we land him.

He's a better player than Nani and technically every bit as good as Cristiano Ronaldo - fact.

If we did sign him and we played yous, there would be a stepover stalemate when both collide. The ball will remain untouched yet the legs will displaying an escalating Portuguese blur of fury.

A potentially top signing. I'd personally still like to see Rafa sign Quaresma as well - him on the right flank with Babel on the left would be a fantastic prospect - but Rafa's now more likely to step up his pursuit of Yossi Benayoun from West Ham and leave it at that.

Good news IMO.
In a world where £8m gets you Ashely Young or 1/2 a Darren Bent, you can't really grumble at £4m for Yossi.

Edit: Plus, the few times I've seen him play in the flesh, he's been excellent.

Have to agree.

IMO, A superior player to Luis Garcia. Doesn't score spectacular goals like Luis, but far, far more consistent and does the basic things right - those two things being what separates a good flair player from a great flair player.

Signing Ricardo Quaresma from Porto would really be the icing on the cake, but that now looks unlikely.
