Err, it was meant to be a joke, a play on the fact that whenever football gets discussed in mainstream media they bring up totally unrelated stuff like how much nurses get paid, as if that has anything to do with footballers.

Nah, I should have made it clear, always tough to tell the tone of something when it's just text.

You can't get air rifles of the power to do more then embed themselves just under the skin without a licence of the type he's incredibly unlikely to have. Without the ability to damage an organ, it's only an extreme freak occurrence that poses any risk (ie shot in the eye or jugular).

Anyhow, as The Guardian have stated in one of their columns today, only a club that's in trouble with the players running rampant would have something like this happen, you'd never have this happen at a club like Man U!!!!

Modified air rifles used to be ten a penny round here. Double or triple springs etc. I owned two myself years ago(both unmodified) and I wouldn't like to have been shot with either of them.

You can say what you want about the papers(who I hate massively) but if he is stupid enough to take one to work and then shoot someone he deserves all he gets, which sadly won't be much.

Roman should be saying look I pay you a ****ing fortune to play football not **** about on the training ground. Next time you want to play with a gun, I'll get one of my mafia boys to take your knee cap off with one.

Hard to trust anything said about this but apparently it was someone else's rifle that was passed around. The weasel words in the articles I've skimmed and Chelsea's statement seem to indicate it wasn't his.

Anyhow, back to the stuff that matters,

Mediumly confident about tomorrow.

Chelsea have been at their worst when teams have defended hard and played well against more open teams so I'm cautiously optimistic about tomorrow. It's entirely possible we'll get a "both sides don't want to lose" game though.

Would like to see Drogba on the bench again, his substitute performance last game didn't exactly show us that we were missing much.
