It's a real shame Inter bottled it last night and came second in their group. Now Chelsea will probably get Panathanaikos in their group! If Juve don't do an Inter then we could see Chelsea coming up against a certain Mr. Ranieri in the next round.

You've had decent draws pre semi-finals in the past couple of seasons. Fenerbahçe and Olympiacos last season and Porto and Valencia sides that were past their best the year before that. I don't think you can call getting tough teams in the semis unlucky because you should expect to play a big side at that stage. I suppose it would be nice to get a different big side each time though, just for varieties sake

smurfy, as mentioned, Chelsea's runs to the semis have hardly been full of difficult draws have they? Compared to Liverpool (Barca, Juve, Chelsea, Arsenal, Inter etc), for instance, who have played to similar points in the comp in the past few years, Chelsea have had a fairly easy run of it. Hardest group stages are usually not exactly Chelsea - this year they had an easy group but made it look hard.

Where does this crap about us having easy runs come from?
Last season we had olympiacos and fenerbache (Away games to Turkey are real easy right?) which weren't the best sides but then went on to play liverpool and man u.
before that we weren't even seeded because of the joke rankings, we had to play every group stage with a seeded team. We, get barcelona or Liverpool everytime in the knockout stages without fail, sometimes both.
Anyhow, good chance to go top tommorrow. Does involve winning at home though which has been pretty tough for us of late.

Another golden chance wasted. That said, their goal was a handball and we were denied a clear penalty on 89 minutes.
It's incredibly frustrating watching these teams that shut up shop only breaking to counter attack and half the premiereship seems to do it now. Doesn't make for exciting or thrilling football for anyone and with successive seasons it's getting worse it seems. Just look at all the draws over the last few weeks. The only exciting football a lot of fans are seeing are at away games and that shouldn't be the case.
