I agree, the behaviour of some of the Chelsea players echoed Man Utd of not so long ago. Conversely the ref was pathetic and bottled more than one decision in favour of Barcelona.

I don't agree or condone what Ballack did and i haven't seen Drogbas incident but tbh, in such a pressure cooker game where emotions are running extremely high i think as a player you are going to react to diabolical decision at the death with vitriol, no doubt about it, and especially if you think a lot of decisions have gone against you.
Its just part of being competitive at the highest level. Tensions run high. Every sport is the same. He will get disciplined tho as you simply can't man-handle the ref.

It is not professional though, not in anyway at all. Countless of times on this forum people have singled out Man Utd players for being dirty or unprofessional, now it is time to single out the Chelsea players. Disgusting behaviour.

You seriously think that the game was fixed?!Last edited by ezee ryder; 06-05-2009, 21:20.

Sorry if Man U were on the receiving end of something like that, no one would talk about anything else for a week.
In all my years watching football I have never seen such awful refereeing. Not even from a certain Mr Poll who blew the whilstle before full time preventing a goal in the world cup and gave a player 3 yellows. In that case FIFA said if the goal have been a match changing one, they would've replayed the game.

I thought it was quite funny seeing Guardiola doing a Mourinho down the touchline, quite ironic.Last edited by ezee ryder; 06-05-2009, 21:27.

To be fair i believe it was this ref that made a total mess of his game in Euro 2008 and ended up having to apologise and didn't take charge of another game.
But still thats hardly an excuse for Chelsea's almost total lack of attacking especially when an already make shift defense had lost a player.

I thought Hiddink gave a really class interview just then. I hope he stays on as Chelsea manager as it would be a credit to the Premier League.

End of the day though, had Chelsea scored more goals, it would have been irrelvant. They can cry about the penalty decisions (or lack thereof) as much as they want, but they also need to appreciate that they did only score one goal themselves.

That was a terrible display of refereeing.
The red card was a joke, as were the penalty decisions. I can understand one or two not being given but the Piquet one and the Eto one where he had his hand above head height were both pens.
That being said, some of the Chelsea player's behaviour was poor but, as Hiddink said, I can understand why.
Hiddink is a class act though isn't he.
