As the popular saying goes: He mad!

What do you make of Wenger's comments about your recent little spending spree?

He's criticising our policy in order to justify his own. His low spending doesn't change the £470million they splashed out on their stadium. He hasn't exactly reaped the dividends in terms of silverware either.

Our revenue's been dramatically increasing since Abramovich arrives, we have strong potential youth players and we haven't spent much for years. The UEFA regulations don't come into force for another 5 or 6 years and we're well on track to meet them.

We're not going to be buying a Torres every year and we've potential replacements lined up for the players who are getting old.

at being on track to meet FFP. Sure the club is, sure. Next thing you know you'll be telling us it'll turn a profit and be self sustainable. The growth rates between 08/09 and 09/10 are like 1%, that's in a double winning season. I struggle to see where the big push in revenue will come from.

Chelsea have a £50m+ deficit on the UEFA calculation and that is before Torres, Luiz etc (offset by losing Ballack, Cole, Deco etc). "Challenging" would be the word that comes to mind when wondering whether Chelsea can comply with FFP.
I mean they only spend 84% of all revenue on wages, that sounds OK. Take it you didn't see anything other than the Chelsea press release, like the actual accounts, about the 70 million loss? It may take 5 years for the full rules of FFP to come in, but the club will fall foul earlier than that.

Staff costs are 84% of revenue vs. 46% at United and 47% at Arsenal (and a bonkers 107% at City).
Have a look, it's interesting. Click me for the full article.

Bit rich of Man U fans trying to accuse us of fiddling the books.

Man U's "record $160million profit"? Oh wait, it was actually a record loss of $130million.
Even if you take into account the one off bond re-structure fee, they still made a loss of ~$30million.

Heh, only football leads to two blokes arguing over accountancy like school kids.

Now, now boys a great game in a couple of hours. Can't wait to see if Torres scores and Suarez looked very handy against Stoke so us Mighty Blues need to be careful.

Let's not worry about all the lavish spending. If Roman leaves hypothetical non sense n Man U's debt. The hope is in the future the Bundesliga will be the model for everywhere, at the mo it's not.

My main concern is ticket prices which at every club is stupidly high and the fact it cost about 200 quid for me to watch Chelsea. Or just as bad about 70 quid for people to watch Derby!!! (Transport included).

Very tense first half, I thought we offered marginally more going up front but we were very lucky not to be a goal behind. The exchange between Ivanivich and Cech probably sums up how tense this game is.

The big problem is that this game is more important to us than it is Liverpool.

Hopefully in the second half a few players will be a bit calmer. Torres is getting in all the right positions but he was guilty of one or two poor passes.

More important to you lot? We're fighting for Champs League mow, lad.

Dont understand how that means it's a bigger game to yous and that is a 'big problem'. We're planning to win this.

Torres subbed much to the delight of the visiting fans.

                            Ivanovic...

We need to stop gifting these goals. A shocking mistake is going to cost us another set of points it seems.

Ball to hand not hand to ball. Chelsea were claiming a penalty there.

That Glen Johnson one however was a clear penalty
