Just finished this about 30 minutes ago, really really enjoyed the game apart from one mission towards the end which took far too long and was very frustrating for reasons I won't go into so as to not spoil things for people who haven't finished the game - Also the mission was NOT 'Supply Lines'!

Having really enjoy GTA3 and Vice City I was a little unsure of this title for a few reasons at first (just seemed a bit sluggish and slow starting) I actually now think this has been the best GTA title yet.

Also great I finished it in time for Halo 2 tomorrow

Even though the soundtracks on the previous games were awesome, for me this one's the best yet. Had WCTR on while cooking and didn't bother changing it while eating. Then changed it to K-Jah West for proper digestion. Love K-DST and Radio X as well. ( love them all really )

Is it just me or does WCTR change throughout the game? There are reports of things that CJ and the other characters have done on WCTR now that couldn't have been there at the start of the game. Having only really started listening to WCTR in San Fierro, I'm now wondering what I missed earlier on. There must have been something different on WCTR during the early stages of the game.

WCTR definitely changes according to how much progress you've done.
Like you hear certain interviews, that you can't hear later on.
Lazlow interviewing O. G. Loc and some others.

The news reports will change accordingly too.

              Spoiler

Basically, it's in San Ferriro docks, theres a plane carrier with a VTOL Jet on it

Just going through the Catalina missions then doing those back to back races for CV, noticed the hills around there. One of them is Arthurs Seat, the volcano that overlooks Edinburgh, just round the corner are the Forth Road and Forth Rail bridges. Nice touches.

Spoiler:You don't even have to go to the air carrier. Complete a certain mission and you eventually get your very own private fighter jet back at the air field in Las Venturas.

I'm sure one of the guys on WCTR is The same guy who does the voice over in little britain (tom baker is it??) He's the guy who goes on about travel. Anyway was listening to it last night and the missus thought it was a real radio show!!

Incidentally, i've just got to San Fierro and i've noticed the game going a bit loopy, longer loading times between missions, game crashing etc! Pissing me off tbh!

                    Anyone elses doing this??

Game runs fantastically on my PAL-launch PS2 (never been serviced or had probs). A few people have said it stresses the DVD on later levels, so it seems to be showing up slight probs people have which dont show on normal games.

I've finally "finished" GTA:SA, got about 80% complete in 80ish hours, but i'll be going back to look for those missing side-quests i missed and just do some more relaxed exploring.

While its arguably best in the series some things aint so perfect; plane handling isnt very tight, the camera really should lead you into corners (so you can see where you're going) rather than lag so you can see how well you are drifting, and it seemed much easier than the other two PS2 efforts. Saying all that the plus points FAR outweigh the bad, and it manages to be both an experience as well as good gaming - something many games dont seem to manage these days with either gameplay or story or emotive focus.

                      Now can one date Catalina...

Gone back to this after Halo 2, and it's nice to get into a game which is fun to play and doesn't take itself too seriously.

I'm still impressed with it and finding new bits all the time. Getting gold in the car driving school is a ****ing joke though, surely? I did supply lines pretty quickly (2 or 3 attempts) but this is killing me.

My game of the year, so far, i've decided, and the best in the series. I loved GTA 3, but couldn't get into Vice City.

Actually, I have a feeling it was the guy who played Dr. Lucien Sanchez/Todd Rivers in Garth Marengi's Darkplace.

                          Listen closer.

Unless it's that John Colshaw bloke, mind?

can someone tell me how to get into one of the planes in San Fierro airport?

if you mean the planes when youre saving the guy in van, you cant, there all locked.
otherwise, you can use a truck to climb the fence.

just keep playing the story and you get the jump jet. just be patient

liked how you can connect the baggage carts to the car, build up a long line and take it to the road!
