Totally agree, there are some sure fire ways to make some early cash!! But we all know that the top cars are available as prizes, so money cant buy everything (excuse the metaphpr)

Gold in the licenses has always eluded me, once I get the license I rarely go back to improve it... time is spent in GT mode or unlocking arcade mode stuff for 2 player!!

the game keeps being a letdown for me. i've spent at least 10 hours in GT mode and still don't have a decent race car because all the price cars i win are concept cars that can't be sold. also, i'm fed up with all this boring license tests! my best expericene so far was riding an Opel DTM car over the N?rburging in Arcade mode and really getting a good sense of speed.

To me this game isn't about winning the best and fastest cars its all about the driving experience.

I've spent a great couple of hours just driving around various tracks over and over again in an old '70s Lotus. Beating laptimes etc never even entered my head i was just enjoying the feeling of taking different lines at different speeds and taking in the atmosphere.

As long as you've got the wheel i can't see why anyone who enjoys driving in real life wouldn't enjoy this immensely.

This is ace: I did the reverse version of Umbria Rally(Easy), (the second race of the first bit of Special Condition Hall) in the Mercury Cougar XR-7 against the Delta. I won, but afterwards I watched the whole replay from the Delta, in-car, looking backwards. This great big herking 60s American car powering round the twisty streets steadily gaining on 'me' looked amazing!! Reminded me of Jaws

The mans grasped it it is the whole experience that makes this game the best. I have driven Trial mountain an isane numbr of times and just love every single turn and dip in the road, no other driving game gives the same feeling as you drive these gorgeous tracks!!

I'm really looking more and more forward to this now reading all your impressions, but only buying the old GT3 Logitech wheel and not having anything proper to clamp it to is making me worry I won't get a 'decent' enough experience from it...

Agreed on the whole experience thing. It's great being able to take pretty much any car and do what you like with it. Some of the oldies are pure gold and the Le Mans style cars are immense in a full-on race situation.

I'm also looking into the wheel mounting situation before I pump ?90 for the DFP - there's no way I'm up for playing it jammed in my knees like in days gone by. Just need a table of some sort that's weighty at the bottom as I imagine it could take some stick!

What is the B spec mode for? When you control the actions of the driver, or something? Can you win races and get credits from that?

As ludicrous as it sounds, clamp it to an Ironing Board if you've got one about mate, that's what I do, works a treat.

Hehehe, Ironing board... class Bleeders!! The biggest table from my mums 3 piece coffee table set is doing me just fine Rossco, your only problem is what to clamp it on... using the Logitech GT3 wheel is superb, a fantastic experience... its the only wheel I have ever used for GT!!

The AI drives for you. You tell it how fast to drive, the faster it goes the more likely it is to fall off the road. You can tell it to overtake and to pit in. You win races and money from the races as if you did them yourself. The only difference is that you earn B-Spec points rather than A-Spec points.

I think it's included so that people can get to 100% without having to do the 3 24 hour races. You can run it at triple speed too, so that a 24 hour race only takes 8 hours.

Yeah you manage the driver, and you get the same rewards as you would if you
we actually driving.. Its a god send for endurance racing or for building up cash quick

Only 8 hours??? what a relief!! I can put away my packed lunch if it is only 80% of my waking day not a fan of those races, no excitement and soooo repetitive... thye are achore, not fun!! Think I left them longer ones from GT3 out as took too long so cant see myself sitting down for 8 + hours to complete these!!

It's the first wheel I've owned and it is a great piece of kit, I originally got mine with my Japanese copy of Initial D.

                                8 hours for a race!?!
