got to Krauser on level 5-3 on Pro and he is fecking tough

i unloaded 15 magnum rounds into his head and he was still kicking my ass

after i kicked the gamecube across the living room floor i felt it was time to have a rest from him for a wee while

sorry if this has already been covered, but I have read all the reviews for the game and I am buying it today. I see it is automaticaly in widescreen mode. I have just bought widescreen tv, so is all I have to do is put the tv in WIDE mode? Or is there a better setting to view the game?

I just finished the game for a second time, but this time I had the help of the infinite rocket launcher, and man can that thing clear a room! It kills damn near anything in one shot.

          And buster,

don't waste ammo by shooting at his head when his arm is up covering it. You won't hit him. Instead, when his arm is up, put a shotgun blast into his legs. He'll kneel in pain when you do, and that will give you a chance to unload some .45 lovin' into his head. Rinse, repeat, and he'll be toast in no time.

i know already beaten him in normal mode a few times, i am using the shotgun to take out his feet and using the knife at close quarters but when i hit him and he is exposed i switched to the magnum and shot him 18 times (every round) and he wouldnt die - i just hope it was a glitch in the game and rather than the die video starting it kept on going - i also only had 10 seconds left on the clock - even threw 2 grenades that actually got him, kinda breezed thru PRO mode to be honest - 8hrs and i'm at Krauser with loads of ammo

Circa 10 hrs on my first play through on normal. Just finished the bull dozer ride...wow!

Had a few difficulties with lack of ammo (being a bit gun happy) and found myself going through the lab with no rifle so no thermal view...doh!

              Excellent stuff.

No, the game doesn't have a true widescreen mode; it's actually a 4:3 image with black borders at the top and bottom of the screen.

I wouldn't use your TV's widescreen setting as it will stretch the game making everything look short and fat. Far better to go for a setting that stretches the screen both horizontally and vertically - thus filling out the screen and keeping the aspect true to it's original self.

I have a Sony 32" widescreen and used the Zoom function. Looked fine to me.

Its a pity the game isnt 16:9 for obvious reasons. However if you have a widescreen TV then definately use the zoom feature. I played RE4 on my friends 72' Fujitsu plasma and it looked great (component cables of course). There are graphical flaws, but these are just as noticeable playing on my 4:3 58cm Sony TV. Stretching the image doesnt add the occasional poor texture and alaising thats inherent in the game.

Hah! Just unlocked Wesker. Did the whole Waterworld stage with Krauser; the arm vs the chainsaw = win.

No spoilers from now on please.

Just got up to chapter 2 last night. Couldn't believe how rusty I was after mastering the demo back in december. Must have died around 5 times at the hands of Chainsaw dude.

Tons of ammo + tons of havoc + Leon = Return to Resi2 action fest.

I can see this game demanding tons of playthroughs, just like Resi2 as well.

Can't really call it a Resident Evil game as it's so different to the past titles, it could have been doing with an entirely new name tbh.

I should really go for my eyes testing, I can't seem to focus on distant details and end up with eye/head aches instead. There's too much for my eyes to cope with.

I love that merchant guy, I always feel safe with him around.

I caned this last night and I'm now near the end. 6 hours in. Chose to defeat both El Gigante the 2nd time AND the two chainsaw people in the camp in order for cash prizes.

I hate having to sell stuff in order to make space, makes me paranoid about losing money. I had to sell 90 handgun bullets so I could afford the large case, that made me ill.

Must remember to piece back together the elegant mask on my 2nd play on hard. I can imagine it selling for much much more.

I really hope we don't see a film on this. I don't want Verne Troyer as the little guy in the castle, not unless he actually gets killed during filming.

Fallows - when you say "now near the end", where exactly are you?

Just because I'm not sure you are, you see

Ran over this with an RE-mad friend a few days ago. He now has a Cube and is loving it. I can't wait to hear his reaction to some bits - even though I showed him a few things he'd love, there's just still so much he has to discover.

LOL! of Chelsea + England fame? I have difficulty believing that one somehow.

EDIT: Chapter 3.1 Paleface, not 4.

The one thing I really hate about this game is the attract sequence. I stay away from any kind of internet spoilers for over two years and then I get a majority of scenes ruined in less than 2 minutes whilst changing my Wavebird batteries.
