Don't know if any of you saw it, but yesterday over at Computer & Video Games They say that Rockstar admitted the delay for us getting the game here was due to 'issues' in the submissions process or something. They didn't go into it further but it makes me wonder if something got cut?!

It's generally a given that a GTA game gets an 18 rating, so I wonder what's gone on?!

For any one ordering from play or gameplay (Pal Version)

It says on the play website that it is in stock and will usually be dispatched in 24 hours.

And ive heard a friend say that his copy has been dispatched from gameplay.

Strange considering its not supposed to be out till the 4th!!

Mine was also shipped from simplygames yesterday. If you opt for the standard delivery, they send it out a few days early as its 2nd class, so that it arrives by the release date.

Well mine arrived today and I have to say I'm blown away. The very reason some people have criticised the PSP is what is impressing me right now - I can't ever think of a time when handheld gaming was able to match it's big brother but this is a spot-on GTA game. No compromise. Wow.

Sorry for the double post. I have one question - when you have added a custom soundtrack, how do you get rid of it off your memory stick when you want to change it?

Yes, an amazing game for sure, isnt it just a folder thats easy to find Dogg? I have done custom soundtracks but not looked where they went to as yet. As for the Pal version, I went for US version in case they decided to change the firmware version needed, I really would like to see this run on 1.5 though, as downgrading to play the best emus is a pain, and the 2.0 loader aint great

Ah, so it is. I had looked for it but for some reason the date it put with the folder was way off (maybe it was when the program was made) so it had got lost amongst other folders when I arranged by date. It's in the Save Data folder.

Just to clarify what you're saying - the US version works on 1.5, right?

If US works on 1.5 then I may just scrap multiplayer with my mates and order from VG+ now and send my Gameplay one back as I really dont wanna have to upgrade!!

No I'm saying it runs on 2.0 which i can get out from, but I was worried that the uk version may be a higher firmware. Sorry if that wasnt clear.

So for peeps who're playing it now, how does the camera, targeting and save systems fare on the PSP? I've read rumbles which haven't come across all that great.

Still looking forward to this immensely however. As long as the Liberty City atmosphere is brought back alive and kicking, I'll be a happy bunny.

Hey you know targeting has been ok and ive tageted all the people i meant to, so gamespot just suck at games, the camera is ok tap l and it resets behind you, but reversing in a car is a bit pesky. everything is in there even down to the litter blowing around, amazing lighting and shiny cars, i cant get over how good a game can look given enough time, now sumo, get to work on crazy taxi! no excuses :P

Yeah the targeting is no worse than it has ever been in GTA. So it's not perfect by any means but it does the job. Being on the PSP doesn't really make a difference in that respect. In fact camera and saving are exactly the same too. It's all about the level of Vice City when it comes to gameplay systems in LCS.

And, yes, Liberty City is all present and correct. As much as it may have been just to save them dev time, I loved that I knew where I was as soon as I started playing.

Mine arrived from Gameplay this morning.

It really is some achievement by the developers. Technically superior to GTA3 on PS2, I'd say. An initial annoyance was having to use the analogue disc for player movement and steering but thankfully you can swap to the d-pad in the options menu. I'm currently in the driving out to somewhere quiet to listen to the (excellent) new radio station phase.

Does anyone know if a UK copy of this will work on a US PSP - with firmware right upto date (don't bother with emus and homebrew you see).

It's easier and cheaper for me to get a UK one, but just want to be sure it will work on my machine.

                              Cheers

I've used the initial UK releases on a US (V2.00) machine without a problem. I don't see why there should be a difference with this.
