Totally agree - the more I play the more impressed I am with it.

I wasn't holding out too much hope for the game, after all its only on a handheld but any expectations I have had have been blown away. Bravo indeed.

The only minor complaint I do have, and its more of a personal one really, is that after playing GTA 3 to death on PS2, PC and Xbox (yes, I was that obsessed with the game) the world of Liberty City doesn't hold that many surprises any more and I have an overriding feeling of been there, done that.

Still, sitting in my dune-buggy on the beach watching the sun rise over the lighthouse on Portland Rock with Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves playing on the radio = win.

Some of the lighting seems far better than GTA3 as far as I can see - go to the south end of Staunton Island around dawn for some great sunlight. ICO on the PSP might not be all that unrealistic.

I do have that same feeling as you Icarus0 on the surprises. On unlocking the second section there wasn't that rush of new things to see because I knew exactly where everything was.

Great stuff - though I agree; my familiarity with the environment has stolen one of the key ingredients which makes each GTA (initially) compelling - the desire to explore and uncover everything.

I'll leave some impressions later - right now I'm too busy playing through it.

I posted a wee bit about the multiplayer back a page.

              Basically, it rocks!

                Thanks
Now all I have to do is find someone to play with.
BTW. Does each player require a game, or can you do game-sharing mode?

Nah, no game sharing. That would be wayyyy impossible!

Picked this up today and have only had a quick blast with it but from what I've seen I've been seriously impressed with. Rockstar Leeds have done a fantastic job, probably one of the most technically impressive games on the PSP so far without a doubt, and it's come so early in the systems life...imagine what they're going to be doing a couple of years down the line. Whilst I totally absorbed in GTA III I would never have guessed we could be playing a handheld carbon copy in just a few years time.

I picked this up at the weekend and have been very pleased with the motorbike riding aspect. Obviously coming from San Andreas to this was gonna be a bit of a let down, really feeling grounded with no aircraft to fly and so far no way of getting up in buildings - which is probably why I'm tearing up the streets on my bike so much >_< Not been to Liberty City before so lots so see

Enjoyed the missions so far. Initially had a problem targeting and got beat down by a cop but was happy to re-do the mission this time choosing to run down my target in a big truck

Is there a way to use your car horn in this one? Want to pick up some hoes

Looking forward to tank battles on multi-player mode!

I think you press down on the d-pad to sound the horn.

Was playing this some more last night for a couple of hours and I didn't even do a single mission! Just spent my time exploring and getting re-equainted with Liberty City. It was weird going back to the old hideout, I spent a lot of time there in GTA III

Is there any hidden packages in this one? I've not found anything beyond a meat cleaver so far.

Aha, thanks man. I would have spent much longer on it had my battery not run out (charger was here at work). At least I had my DS to fall back on

I've spent a number of hours on this this weekend, and i really love it. It makes all of my other PSP games seem obsolete.

It is a technical marvel and i really cant believe its running on my PSP.

Anyone been using the custom soundtrack at all. I have used the program (downloaded from the the rockstar site) and put a large number of songs on my memory card.

The thing is that the file says its corrupt on my memory stick, but the songs work fine in the actual game.

                              Anyone else had this?

There are definitely 100 hidden packages, i've been cruising round liberty city alot (more so than doing missions) and have collected 13 so far.

at every 10 you get it unlocks a new weapon at your hideout for free (assuming it's like GTA3)
