I really like the idea of the garages and being able to walk around them, but I'm growing tired of loading involved, especially when selecting a car.

How many garages are there? I'm up to the Japanese one at the moment.

      I've just noticed something:

You can't change the colour of the cars that are in the garages? If so, how?

      Comment

There are 9 garages in total.

You can't change the colour of the car once you've purchased it AFAIK.

You cant change the colour of a purchased car, but you can buy it again in a different colour.

Farbound or the RUF will see you through cone challenges - I don't find them that difficult at gold level but the platinum scores required are off the scale !! Gonna need to study some replays to sort them out.

3 cups to go to complete solo career on Gold.

And if anybody hasn't tried it yet the "capture the track" game mode is absolutely brilliant as you don't need to be in the lead to win. It's a team game (2 teams) and basically whoever sets the fastest time in a particular sector of the track "captures" that sector for their team - This means you can just hang back at the start of a race and get a clean race through the track - When the ownership of sectors is jumping back & forth between teams it can give you a real kick

Which particular RUF mate? These cone challenges are damn annoying

The none turbo one think it's the RUF CTR-2 off the top of my head.

I like the Capture the track mode too - and the team knockout, both of these can be a lot of fun, but again, it depends on the right people, there are still idiots out there to spoil the team online games, which isn't really the game's fault.

Agreed - It's funny - I expected all the idiots to be playing PD0 but a lot seem to have found their way onto PGR3. A shame. Hopefully Bizarre will see fit to update the online lobby system so that it's a bit more robust (the lack of a facility to lockdown car class seems insane - particularly when they offer the "manual only" and "force in-car" options !!!)

I've taken to a policy of asking three times then booting people

                  "Class C please"

                  "Class C"

                  "Class C"

                  "You're gone."

I haven't played the team races yet, I was planning that for this evening, and after reading this I will for sure give it a go today (so far I've only played online career)

Probably been mentioned loads of times, but way too easy to spin people out online. Also, awful loading times. Next-generation graphics, PS1 generation loading. Didn't they bother to use the HD drive properly? These two things spoil an otherwise cracking game.

I agree that the load times are irritating, but exactly how can they use the HDD when not every 360 user has one?

Well, it's not that difficult to code. The kernal has a flag for is the system has a HD or not, and the HD has cache space reserved on it. So when you first boot the game check if its cached, if not, copy the big files across to the HD. then when in the game code it comes to loading that cache, typically level, or streaming music data - it'd either try to get it from the HD or DVD accordingly.

You can't design the game around the hard-disc, but you can very easily move any streaming files, or large frequently loaded files onto the HD. Would take what? a day to code. it's just a case of changing the path and putting in some installation code at the boot-up of the game.

                            Fair 'nuff then

An amazing game. My first introduction to Xbox Live was watching Gotham TV and being blown away by the fact I could look around in the car and alter the camera angles while races were happening in real-time. The whole integration of this mode has had my jaw on the floor, as has the 360 rendition of Xbox Live. I'm very impressed and I take back what I said about the 360 being stagnant.

It's possible to see what people were going on about in terms of the potential for the service and how it far it can possibly be taken over the next five years.

Well, I thought the one player was ok. Took into onto live and now I can't stand it. Every corner some dick uses you as a barrier, spins you, then no chance of winning.

                                Bah.
