I've just double checked the buttons and it deffinitely doesn't work on the original GT force. In gameplay view change isnt mapped to Y it's mapped to the B button which is cancel in the menus. Y pauses the game in gameplay. Im basing this all on Outrun2SP mode. My wheel works fine in all other games and all the buttons work in Outrun2 SP so I don't know what the problem is.

What I meant by keeping the layout the same as the arcade for example pressing the accel peddle in the arcade selects your car, course etc which it doesn't in this game.

Can anyone else get this working correctly with a GT Force?

Thats odd, unless the Xbox version of the wheel is wired differently, I would have expected the inputs to be in the same places.

I know they checked out both versions of the GT Force wheel (both standard and Pro) in Sega's Japanese QA, and believe me those guys are thorough, so I'd be surprised if something like this had crept through.

I'll have another chat with the guys tomorrow and see if we can think of anything...

As to the pedal controls, not sure, I'll ask them that the same time

        Cheers S0L.

Im using the PS2 GT Force (I don't think there is an Xbox version?) even the PS2 wheel has A, B, X and Y face buttons.

Maybe it's because I have a UK spec wheel and it's different to the Japanese ones? anyway, it's only a minor niggle, gameplay wise it's perfect and thats what counts!

I have the exact same wheel (UK model) Lurch and the exact same problem.

It's only a minor annoyance but still slightly unwieldy at the same time.

            Thanks C'

It is a little annoying but at least we can plug the controller in to get full control.

No problem, thanks for the response. I already have the Xbox version, but following all the good things I'm hearing about the steering wheel control and general clean-up, I think I'll go for the JPN PS2 version too.

              Thanks again.

                Heyup,

I've got hold of a UK spec GT Force, and you're quire right, it doesn't let you switch them over. I checked with the team and they've implemented the button configurations as specified by SOJ, so we can only think the Japanese spec wheel is somehow different.

On the pedals, they apparently kept the controls on the wheel buttons to keep the interface consistant, otherwise you'd have to literally pedal your way through all the menu's

So apologies on the music and stage switch, seems there's no other way than leaving the pad in if you've got a UK wheel.

Outrun 2006 is a great game, have both the Pc and the Psp version, and it's surprising how well the Psp version carries off, hardly anything left out.

Nice to see Sega are still capable of some quality produce, even if their hardware days are over.

Does the JPN OutRun 2 SP "First Print Limited Edition" come in a normal DVD case or special packaging of any kind? Just about to order it and I'm wondering if it's worth getting it sent in a box or not.

                    Cheers

Picked up Outrun 2SP in the Play-Asia sale, played for a couple of hours and so far this is excellent, I enjoyed the varied challenges in heart attack mode and I can see the hard route in arcade mode being a bit of a challenge.

I played a bit of the original mode but got stuck on the first drift points challenge, don't know if there is something I am missing because I'm pulling off drifts on all the corners but not getting anywhere near the CPU score.

Anyone with 2SP know which option the widescreen mode is? Did a bit of experimenting in the menus but couldn't find it. I assume its the same menu layout as Coast to Coast if anyone who has that version would like to help me out.

don't suppose anyone could try this on a uk ps3 and see if it works ok?

The Japanese version will not work on a UK PS3 as it is region locked. At the moment the PAL Coast to Coast does not work on the UK PS3.

The Japanese version plays fine on a Japanese PS3 though due to the emotion engine, there are no issues I can confirm this as its how I play the game.

Have you figured out which options are prog scan and widescreen modes mono?
