Concerning the later half... I felt the level of involvement with the world ? in-between each dungeon ? is largely left up to the player, and their desire to explore?

I found that after I obtained a new weapon (an inevitability when completing a dungeon ) that previously unreachable areas suddenly sprung back into my mind, creating the irresistible and tantalizing wish to explore. I was torn between wanting desperately to continue the story? but also wanting to roam Hyrule Field?

For me, though, just simply exploring the environments, riding across the sheer vastness of the world... watching the sunset and admirably witnessing it rise beautifully, was a little adventure in itself. Not much need happen, it was more of an embracing experience? And i haven't felt that since Ocarina Of Time
True - after you get the clawshot, or whatever its called, theres a few little nooks and crannies to explore, usually rewarding in massive cash or a piece of heart. Theres also a few places I need to visit with my big metal ball! Will get onto this stuff when I'm out of the current temple

I'm not liking what I'm reading.
I wouldn't worry. It's still better than 99% of the games I've ever played!

I haven't found it a drag at all, and in fact I've been exploring the world just for the sake of it sometimes. I'll often hop on Epona and ride to Kakariko or wherever I'm going even though warping would get me there much faster, just because I like to take out moblins and such from horseback and enjoy the scenery, and exploring some little nook will almost always nab you something to make it worthwhile.

I'd imagine that things would start to get a bit formulaic if you just warp from point to point, because most of the time the sections between dungeons can be blasted through pretty quickly. It leaves it up to you whether you want to just run through it or take the time to drink it all in.

dont get me wrong im not saying i didnt love the game, but i didnt get the same awe that i got from oot, i guess cause it was my first.

i really wish the game had proper music though, colossus style.

i did play OOT before this but i just feel that this game offers less of the RPG element and difficulty and offers up a game which has ZERO difficulty?

...I just don't get why you have to learn all the new attack techniques as you get further into the game when they don't have any real purpose apart from defeating the odd enemy...why does link never get into any heated battles where you truly feel like you are using your sword for a purpose? and even when you do face enemies you get hearts gallore - its that easy that you have to pretty much throw yourself at the enemy to die...whats the point.

take for example, Fable...not really a serious RPG like with zelda but its difficulty comes from your encounters with the enemy, not from falling off the edge of a cliff or running into bland puzzles...too many games are like this these days

maybe its just too much like ocarina (or not as good), who knows, but its been a bit of a let down for me...

i still love what nintendo have done with this game, it is a true masterpiece, i just wish nintendo would present more of a challenge with their games...i want more for my money than to just be able to walk through a game for the sake of it

              I'm enjoying it at least

              By the way

How big is the world? Looking at the map having reached up to kakariko it doesn't seem big at all and wondered why I read that it was meant to be huge?!

There's more of it than that. I found it to be fairly sizeable. Not Morrowind or Oblivion, of course, but there's a fair amount of it.

I'd say you've seen less than 1/3 of the map so far depending on how much aimless wandering you've done.

Same here. Ocarina was mind blowing to honest. Twilight is a great game of Zelda. I actually agree with all the comments I've read on this thread. In fact they all cement what the Edge review said. Fantastic but nothing new as such.

Here's hoping for a new Zelda. And I mean NEW Zelda. Failing that how about another Mario Party

Can't argue with that. I can't understand how we're on DVD now but the music is still MIDI. It really harms how listenable the music is when, although some sounds much better than others, the competition all has full orchestral scores.

For God's sake, Nintendo! Hire an orchestra!

Just finished this about an hour ago and it's the best game I've played since Resident Evil 4 and the best Zelda game since OOT. Midna better be in Smash Bros Brawl, she's easily the coolest character to appear in a Zelda game or any other for that matter, would be a waste if this was the only game she made an appearance in.

Indeed. Minda + Wolf Link in Smash Bros would be cool too

Took me 51 hours over 10 days. Gamecube Version. Just an awesome awesome game. Really the best to come out this year, not really much more to add about it though It's just Zelda plain and simple possible the best one def at least top three along with Oot and lttp.

Got the Wii version to play soon and yes i will actually play through the whole thing again. I think calling the game too easy is a little unfair, I would like a bit more of a challenge but every 3D Zelda has been this easy. It's a damn sight harder and more involving than the Wind Waker. WW does win out on charm and asthetics but TP just feel like a great statement and almost send off to the Zelda Tradition.

I Love it for what it is. Its ****ing Zelda, I look elsewhere for really original stuff.

                            but.......Where the **** is Tingle????
