The Gorons rock on this! "Waaaaayyy-Haayyyy Bruddaaa!!"

I love everything about this game, it's easily the best 3D Zelda.

Concerning LttP, my mate who borrowed it around 4 weeks ago has just finished it off. It's only the 2nd videogame he's EVER played after fully completing SMW. It was ace having him come into my office each day and talk about where he was up to and what had gone on the night previous.

He's picking up my N64 tonight for Ocarina + Majora, I might let him play through Mario64 first to get a grip of the whole 3D thing. He plans on getting a Wii after the N64 sesh.

The funny thing is he now realises the magic in Nintendo titles (who wouldn't after playing those two?) and totally isn't interested in anything the Playstation or Xbox has to offer. I should lend him FFVII at some point though.

about 20 hours in, i'm just about to start on the third dungeon.

spent a little while yesterday doing

the escorting the wagon set peice thing

unbeleivably annoying. first crap part of the game, and hopefully the only one.
so after that i couldnt be bothered to get on with the main quest, and just wandered around loads. found a bunch of heart peices i missed thanks to the fortune teller's tips, and then did a bit of bug hunting. not sure what the point of that is though. i think the reward for the first one was a

bigger wallet (or was it more arrows), but the next 8 i found have all just been money

When you get them all you get another bigger wallet, which holds 1000 rupees.

I've completed the game but yet to do that. Not sure I ever will.

It's only useful if you intend to complete the

Cave of Ordeals using the Magic Armour

Why do you need that item to complete that area? I found it a huge drain when put on in the game. 'No use whatsoever' sprang to mind.

But I'm now taken to the Dark Side and feel little love for this incarnation of Zelda. Don't even want to recommend it to friends due to its ageing looks and gameplay.

Hey guys, I know this is the Wii thread but can anyone tell me if the US NTSC version of this for Gamecube works with Freeloader/Action Replay on a EU machine? I'd just get the PAL version but can't find it anywhere except for Ebay which list them from ?40+

VG+ has this for only ?26, so any info on this would be great thanks.

Well with the extra money and

                Magic Armour

your chances of making it through increase.

Is the cave of ordeals the cave on the edge of lake hylia by the howling stone?? I've yet to get to the bottom of that one, mainly because i keep running out of lamp oil! Just got a second bottle so i might try again tonight...

Not quite dude, the Cave of Ordeals poses a much greater challange then that... I wont say where, tho its not too difficult to find

...the the reward may not be entirely worthy (...you could even say it is underwhelming... pants even) but the satisfaction of completing it is worth doing it alone, i know i felt well chuffed with a happy glint in my eye

The prize for completing The Cave of Ordeals would be sufficient (well, better at least) if it could be tackled at any point in the game. The fact you need certain items only acquired late on in the game to progress through the cave makes the final reward kinda pointless. As Adam says though, completing it is still personally rewarding.

Finally finished this the other night with a total of 52 hours. Went through phases of loving this and being apathetic towards it, which is why it took me nearly 3 months.
Overall a really enjoyable game, will probably go back in the future to tool around some more in Hyrule

Yeah I've completed it but only have half the items / sidequests etc.

My memory is **** so I can't remember where some of the stuff would be. Will probably take annother 50 hours to fully complete!

thanks for the info on the bug hunt thing peeps. dont think i'll go out of my way for that. maybe something to look into after i've done most of the real game.

just gone into the desert this evening. a rather nice bit

sneaking through the camp sniping with the bow and arrow. not really sure if i needed to be so stealthy, but it was cool anyway.
then beat that big goblin guy again...i'm not too good at some of the special attacks, so i just arrow-bombed him in the face a few times, then hacked him to bits. i assume he'll turn up again later.

looks like i'm at the entrance to a new dungeon now, but i'll save that till the weekend.

Its a surprisingly creepy dungeon! Really liked how

the wolf senses were blended into this dungeon...

. My favourite dungeon was the second, with the iron boots. Loved it. Also the last few were captivating...

                                Though a little short, the

                                Twilight Castle

cast a huge smile across my face. Really liked the presentation, was beautiful. I liked how the

                                Snowpeak

dungeon offered something slightly different and the boss was a visual delight. The music during this whole section was wonderful... would love to hunt out the mp3.

One thing i will say, which is vaguely mentioned in the review is that by the final quarter the atmosphere did start to deflat a little, which is a real shame. Still, a brilliant Zelda title - and i enjoyed it even more during my second play through!
