28? Looks like 56 to me

    Comment

Maybe it means more people are playing it rather then writing about it?

      Heh, anyhoo...

I'm replaying this again as well as replaying Wind Waker and loving every moment of them both. Both games are excellent, though it will certainly be intriguing to see where Nintendo take the series next. Anyhoo! I feel compelled to get back to the adventure... back on the forest temple and just as excited as the first time! heh

Had a good blast through this over the weekend. In classic Zelda style I just got my hands on the bombs and am now wracking my brains to remember all the big boulders and where they were... I may go sidequest crazy at this stage (just after the second dungeon) as my wallet was full and there were loads of rupees i couldn't pick up. A bigger wallet is a must!

Got this at christmas, and since then I've spent a total of 1h15 playing it. I really dont get it. I find it the camera is WRONG and I just cant for the life of me do the fishing, so I can't get anywhere at all. I really want to like it though!

Once you're through that fishing part there's only one other place I can recall where it's actually required. Couldn't stand the fishing myself either to be honest.

Stick with it though, awesome from start to finish (With the exception of the fishing! ) in my opinion.

Yeah, I hated the fishing as well. Only bit I needed to read the manual for and even then it didn't work how I expected it to.

                Despite this

                and that goddamn sky level

it's my favourite game of all time.

If i had more space in my zelda review, i would have mentioned how the Gamecube version lets the player control the camera freely. Though this may not be much to some, for me it is a massive deal. Like in Wind Waker and even Sunshine, controlling the camera is just as important as controlling link. Helps so much with certain areas and really helps to capture the sheer grandness of the environments (being able to zoom in and out). Something surely missed in the Wii version

Also, i love the fishing on the Cube version - so relaxing - but wasn't too impressed with the wii style fishing. I'm assuming you guys mentioning the fishing are playing the wii version?

I actually bought the Cube version fully expecting to be frustrated with the Wii controls (Nothing to do with it potentially having some value moving forwards! ), but there weren't too many points where I felt being able to shift the camera would have benefited me greatly.

In fact the only point in the game where I constantly questioned the camera position was [VERY VERY LATE SPOILER ALERT!]

during the final phase of the Ganon fight it always seemed too close, particularly as all you really need to do is wheel around until he makes himself vulnerable

                    .

I'd also imagine the responsiveness of the sword is massively improved in the GC version though, again, (MORE VERY LATE SPOILERS!!)

the Ganons Puppet part of the final confrontation is the only point where I consciously needed to compensate for the lag

                    .

But still, awesome game. Probably more so on the GC I would think.

Camera is fine, and at any moment your not sure you just click C and move it, not a problem. One of the best games i have ever played.

                      EDIT

Of course i see the point of a moveable camera, i just found throughout the whole game it wasn't a issue and you always had a good scope.

I also don't think the camera is a problem but then again I haven't played the GCN version so...

Feel i may have sounded a little harsh! heh, that's tiredness for you

It's funny really, because i didn't mind not controlling the camera in the wii version. Nope, not at all. You can't in Ocarina of Time or Majora's Mask, and they play wonderfully... The same can be said for the wii version, not controlling the camera wasn't a problem

But having the option to control the camera, well, that's just lovely.

I finished this game in about 40 hours quite a while ago and I loved it, I think it's almost as good as Ocarina but not quite. I've noticed a lot of people hate the fishing but I didn't mind it, never had trouble catching fish. The bit I hated was

going around killing those bugs for the light

I found them tedious, especially the last one in Lake Hylia.

I loved some of the boss battles too, and the fight against

Zant, though not difficult at all, was great as he went through all the other bosses.

I think I was just happy to be playing Zelda again after so long, but having finished it quite a while back, I can't see myself going through it all again anytime soon.

Are people talking about the oh-so-dull fishing that takes place in the world or the oh-so-great fishing that takes place on the fishing lake?

I thought some of the bugs were tedious too. But looking back I actually enjoyed the atmosphere more at that point of the game. It was new for a start.

Can't see me going back either. Not for a while. OoT was totally awesome from start to finish. Fully realised Zelda in 3D, plenty of side-quests, so many uses for new items and time travel! TP just seems so barren in comparison. This is only my views on it though. Perhaps at 35 and 3/4s I'm going through another gaming shift.

I ahev had the same niggle several times. Like when I wanted it to (understandably) point in the direction i was moving, but the 'push z to move it behind you' just locked onto something instead. Boo hiss.
