I thought they looked familiar if that's the case

(goes off to O1 to check!)

Oh and the old guy on the stage that starts with the hot springs is the guy from the first game you have make the pots (hence the present at the end).

And yes, I love Oh My Julia too

Yuss, more Oh My Julia love! I noticed pot man - there's quite a few nice cross-references that are excellent. I'm on the final song of hard now and it's utterly destroying me. I can get to the last section before swiftly dying. It feels harder than RSG by a fair bit, and also much, much longer.

Like the Monkey Magic story is a crib from Highway Star in EBA?

Actually I've managed to breeze through Hard so far, just got a couple song left to attempt there. Must be all the hardcore action on the other two games. Though I know people who are 300'ing almost every song on Insane... that's just not human...

(as in every hit they get scores 300)

Wow, never came close to spotting that! Hope you have better luck on the last song than me - it's stretching me to the extreme.

i got a ds a couple of days ago, and absolutely rinsed the first Ouendan. Still am in fact after nailing ready steady go this morning.

But this pales in comparison. The music is awful, and thats putting it mildly. Ive heard glamorous sky is in this somewhere though, so thats one good song i suppose....

Im basically rushing through this to try and find a decent song, and failing to do so atm.

Yeah it's still tough on hard mode for sure. It's taking me quite a few attempts to do some songs.

Loving it though, I think it's even better than the original to be honest. Amazing soundtrack, just perfect, and the nice little gameplay tweaks (such as being able to skip the intro and outro of each song), the great unlockables and the slightly better presentation make this a real contender for game of the year.

I hear Inis have projects in the works for 360 and Wii. The mind boggles with what these guys could do on the Wii, but it would mean importing a Japanese Wii for me unless the mod chip scene is sorted by then.

I'd love a Wii Ouendan where you had to actually imitate the Ouendan's dance moves. I'd actually die for it.

I haven't heard the original, but the version here sounds lovely. Amazing stage too.

Just keep playing it on hard, you get it after a few levels. You unlock a hard version of Monkey Magic too.

I've almost beaten Hard (got the two sets of 3 people and the end song to do) and I've just got two unlocked songs so far (Monkey Magic and the lovesick kid at school), though I've beaten both of them on all three difficulties as well. Are there three or four hidden songs in O2?

As for "Oh my Julia!" I think part of the appeal is, as a huge Madness fan, the amount of sax being used heh.

One other song that gets me in a happy mood is the one for the bedwetting story, complete with random Mario/Luigi cameo. The song sounds very bouncy and jolly, and rather reminds me in a number of ways of "Ballroom Blitz" by Sweet.
