Just played like 10-15 minutes of it and just thought I would say WOW!
By far the best looking game on any console right now!

Just finished it. Wow it was superb. So fluid its a joy to behold - it worth seeing how far games have come.

Contrary to the beliefs around its combat - its only frustrating when your learning the ropes, once you get good its also incredibly good fun.

Basically its a lovely showpiece with some solid gameplay elements, one of the greats this year imo shadowed only by Mario.

Finally arrived today. Have played for an hour and am loving it. My telly is 1080i adn it looks lush, so 1080p must be amazing.

Obvious from the start, the game has very high production values and even the script is funny.

Will post more, but so far I am really pleased I bought this.

Have put a couple of hours in now and am really enjoying this. I find the combat fine, probably because I played the demo to death and find it instinctive, so for me it is is all good.

The quality of the production, game and graphics is really superb and shows some potential for the PS3 when a game is made for it and not a port.

Any I will get back to game tonight. And for me, this a must buy for any PS3 owner (and yes, I have a 360 also)

I am playing with the DS3, with rumble the game feels a little more immersive. I am loving the game so far, one of my favourite games of the year. Once again, the game is absolutely stunning

got about 25% thru this today and its leaving me pretty cold.

looks beautiful but i find it so dull and linear, the animation is fluid but you are so limited in where you can go, what you can do and it just seems to repeat walk a few yards, shoot the same men, walk a few more yards, jump a bit.

i'll crack on a little more but expect to see it in the trade forum soon

It's a bit disappointing how few people are talking about this game. Hopefully it picks up when the UK release arrives.

I got it a couple of days ago (along with a DS3) and it's clearly the best game on the PS3 by some margin IMO, despite its short length. It's also the first one that makes me wonder whether it would graphically be possible on the 360, and given how cynical I've been about the PS3, that's saying something.

The combat works well enough but is the main weak point, I think. It's not bad but the enemies occasionally seem braindead and I don't think the weirdness with headshots has been fixed at all. I've hit someone in the head and then had them carry on limping towards me as if I'd hit them in the foot plenty of times. Thankfully it's not the key focus of the game and isn't too hard to breeze through.

I love the platforming aspects though. There's enough margin for error that it doesn't get frustrating (hello Tomb Raider) and because of how good the animation is - probably the most impressive I've seen in any game (hello Tomb Raider...again) - it's fantastic to watch.

My other complaint is simply the length. I had to stop myself playing when I got 40% of the way through the game in only two fairly short sittings. I know that quality over quantity seems to be the development mantra of this generation but when you can essentially finish all of the content within the game in this time (no multiplayer, after all), that's pushing it.

                        Even so, buy this game!

A lot of peeps have been saying how short the game is, on average how many hours would it take yah standard gamer to get through it?

Is there any reason to go back to it when its done?

Seems like it could be as low as 5-6 hours, although the progress indicator speed varies through different sections. I played a hair over an hour in my first sitting and it said 20% but then slowed for a while, and now after almost three hours it says 48% (I'm at the

                            Drowned City

). Taking into account that it'll probably get harder towards the end I reckon I'm looking at seven hours. And from what I've heard the quality of the whole game is consistently high quality, such as when it blew me away by having vehicle sections that weren't **** and over-long (see Half-Life 2 and Gears of War).

There's added stuff in there - a reward points system that blatantly copies achievements (there's even a total of 1,000 points) and rewards that get unlocked as you earn the points - as well as plenty of added video content and treasures to find hidden in the game but I can't see myself going out of my way for it. I'll play certain sections again though and I'll always have it as demo material.

Hmm i wouldnt say it looks that good that i would question that it could be don eon 360. It does look amazing but that much better than the best on 360 hmm im not sure. The rumle is a bit lacking on this tbh aswell.

There's absolutely nothing in Drake's which couldn't be done on a 360. Just look at Assassin's Creed, which I'd say is the current bench mark for technical and artistic brilliance, and that game runs better on 360 than PS3.

I don't want to turn this into a format war thread, but it's always worth remembering that the 360's GPU (which is by far the most important component in modern graphics rendering) is genuinely more powerful and capable than the PS3's so the only time PS3 visuals are going to have an edge is when very heavy CPU work is required. (such as drawing a vast number of physics objects) Other than that, the 360 is simply quicker, particularly in terms of fillrate.
