    So lets not then please.

Not aimed at you directly Kotatsu, I'm just quoting you, but everyone's tired of this crap and no one cares.

Play the game and like it or dislike it for what it is, but all that childish rubbish about `360 rulz!!111111 PS3 droolz!!!1111` has been done to death.

Anyone carrying on this nonsense will end up with their posts disappearing faster than a... erm... very fast thing (sorry it's too early for me to think up any mildly witty analogies and I've only had one cup of tea).

It's a decent game. It's nothing new, but it does what it does well. It's basically a run and gun game with a splodge of platforming and a dash of puzzle. The story isn't bad either.

I prefered the length of this game as I thought, being the type of game it is, I wouldn't of appreciated it being dragged out over 20 odd hours. I have this down as a slightly arcadey third person shooter. Enemies always spawn in the same places, which is fine, but I reckon it would of been really nice if there was a score system in this with online leaderboards, maybe unlocking such a mode after first play through would of been great.

Overall, the game's a bit of an old school affair, with a nice lick of paint. Not bad.

Was having a look at some of the concept art for this a few days back and it's suprising to see just how close the characters started off when compared to J&D.

It'll be interesting to see what they will be able to do with this technology in the sequel. I believe a lot of time was spent developing the streaming technology for the textures on this. It's reassuring to know that the streaming technology is now a part of the standard dev kits for external developers too.

The thing that I had a bit of a problem with in this was the pacing, there seemed to be almost nop breaks in the gun battles at all. A little space to just explore would have really been of benefit to the game.

I loved the whole b-movie atmosphere of the game, the pointless banter was brilliant too. The colours were used so well all through the game and I can't fault the graphics in any way at all as much as I try to pick out ways it could have been done better.

As a couple of other people have mentioned, I also think that this is at least equal to anything currently out on console and I do include Assassin's Creed and CoD4 on both consoles too. I'm still picking out new details in the environments when I play through now.

Has anybody unlocked any of the alternative filters for the game yet?

Yup, got them the other day.

Currently on 450/1000 on my second play through. Still enjoying every bit of it. On the Fortress Waterway part at the mo, but gotta nip out and see the gf today, so won't be able to play any more until tonight.

What does the next-gen filter do to it?

The filters are fairly poopy. The next-gen reminds me a bit of Gears of War for some reason. Makes everything look a bit murky, grey, slightly blurry and boring. Prefer the vibrant colours of the original. I soon turned it off though as it looked, as I said, poopio.

So the filter doesnt stop all the enviroments looking like molded plastic then.

But the Incas built many of their buildings out of plastic! I believe small groups of them are still doing it very successfully now!

For a second there, I was ever so slightly tempted to post a comment about the vegetation being rubber plants...I'll keep it to myself!

I think it's supposed to be a joke. They kept making a big thing about how all next gen games (particularly, I'd assume, UE3 ones) look the same and Uncharted is all bright and vivid colours. It's a valid argument and they're certainly not the only ones to complain about it.

On the subject of my previous remark about the graphics, I still stand by it. This is the first time in a while - maybe since Gears - that I've been really blown away with the visuals in a game. There are moments when it pans around to show a massive vista of jungle and ruins, all areas that you've run through over the last hour or so. And the lighting is spectacular; all self-shadowing and the best representation of sunlight in a jungle since...well...Halo 3. And it certainly looks better than that.

This isn't a "x console is better than y console" thing. It's just what I think, and anyone who knows me knows that I'm not exactly prone to heaping praise on the PS3. Plus I know from the trailers that there are some beautiful areas to come, as well as the
                          ,

                          fortress

                          , and

                          Venetian-style

stages that I've already been through.

You mean the Indian rubber plant?

Maybe these PS3 produced rubber plants are of the Amazon variety of rubber plants...in Columbia...where the Incas lived?

Of course, these shouldn't really be confused with B&Q rubber plants as they aren't indigenous due to a distinct lack of fig wasps in the UK. Fig rolls we have, fig wasps we don't!

Just finished this game and I have to say it is one of my favourite games of the year, I loved it from start to finish. Its like a mix of the best parts of Tomb Raider and Gears of War (weird mix eh?!). Never do you feel that there is too much shooting or too much puzzle/platforming sections, everything is balanced very well. The game took me about 8 hours to complete but those were 8 very enjoyable hours and I spaced the gameplay time out over a few days. Technically this game is absolutely superb, in my opinion it is the best looking game on any console at the moment. The charcter animation, facial animation. lighting and environments are all brilliant. The story is also very good, it has a very hollywood-esque feel to it. I hope Naughty Dog do a sequel to this as I would definately like to see how they would move this new franchise of theirs along. Big thumbs up from me, superb game

Are there any improvements over the demo?
