Has anybody started it on Crushing yet?

What really surprised me about this game was the vehicle parts. They worked really well, especially the jeep chase. Unusually, I wanted more of them.

I'd like to have seen a long run down a river on the jet ski over water falls and stuff. Something like the level we had but much bigger, with no enemies to make it more of a speed run would have suited me too. Add in a few more ramps and stuff and it would be perfect!!

    Note to all boss baddies:
    1. Please stop putting explosive barrels all over your bases, they don't help you in any way at all and it's because of people like you that petrol is so bloody expensive in this country!!!
    2. If you must leave explosive barrels everywhere, tell your all buddies not to hide behind them when somebody is sending streams of hot, glowing bullets in their direction at 1000mph!!!

This game is simple awesome, its like taking part in a classic adventure movie, even down to the dodgy plot .
The platform parts in particular are awesome and just so much fun to swing and jump around , combat system is ok too , though the sh8t dead zone on SONY pad come into play again here. But even that can’t hurt what is a brilliant and well produced platform game, and thats better than any Tomb Raider (or its rip-offs) game made since the 1st TR.
Sound is really awesome too and its in all in 5.1 DTS which really makes a lot of difference too.

Graphics are overrated though, they're nice and quite stunning in parts , but nothing where one could say this is pushing the system . Like Kameo and PDZ there's an over use of effects making it all look fake

There's no deadzone on the SixAxis or DualShock 3. Some games have one while others have no deadzone at all.

That's not the pad though as other games have no deadzone at all. It's software based rather than hardware.

To be fair tho, there's a problem with the Dual shock analogue sticks - they just don't feel natural enough for me. Like TA it really does feel to me like there's a deadzone on them, they feel slightly sticky and too imprecise.

Don't have a problem with the aiming in this myself, but i didn't in Resistance/CoD 4 either. The sticks on the SIXAXIS/DS3 aren't that bad, much better than the DS2 ones.

Started my second game now, on hard. I still only have 300 medal points and 30 pieces of treasure. Hard difficulty is very similar to normal to be honest, although the game doesn't really get challenging till the last third. So, I will hold judgement till then.

                  Anyone on crushing yet?

Got this at the weekend and played through the first few levels. Its really good so far, the controls seem ok to me but I too am not a fan of the sticks they do seem to have a dead zone. Graphics are pretty smart so far and it all seems to hang together very well. Seems to be tomb raider ish but thats no bad thing. This slots in with Resistance, Folklore and Ratchett as my favourite ps3 games so far.

No i am not. I find it more fun exploring the many worlds in rachet aswell as the humour and excellent weapons & gadgets. Im finding the constant firefights are starting to grate now in uncharted and im only on ch 12.

i agree, Ratchet is a game I enjoyed far more, I saw nothing in Drake to get excited about or that felt in any way better or different than anything I'd ever seen before.

Strange, I'm completely the opposite. Uncharted was absolutely brilliant for me but I thought Ratchet was very overrated and just the same as the old ones.

Anyway, I finished Uncharted last night with a final completion time of 7 hours 45 minutes. I thoroughly enjoyed it and might even do it again once I've cleared some of the backlog. For me it's the first AAA PS3 title and actually the first Naughty Dog game that I've really liked. With the exception of one over-extended in incongruous section -

the WW2 bunker; whose idea was it to turn it into Gears meets Gollum meets The Descent?

                            - it didn't have a dull moment. I'd complained that it was short but it ended up feeling about right. That kind of length (up to about 12 hours) is the sweet spot for an action game IMO.

At least now I feel like my PS3 purchase was justified. There's something better for my tomb raiding fix than Tomb Raider, and I can't wait for the sequel. This is Naughty Dog so it'll inevitably be the next thing they do, so here's hoping for more of the same with the few rough edges smoothed out.

You know the combat is good and all, but it isn't no where near as good as gears, which i really enjoyed a whole lot, which is a shame because its trying to emulate that. The platforming, exploration, story and vast vistas are all AAA, its just the combat that really lets it down. Still a quality title mind and my 3rd best PS3 game.

I agree about the combat, I just got this, I'm about 3 hours in and it is already grating a little bit. While it works in short bursts the shooting just isnt polished enough to be the main part of the game, and thats what it is seeming more and more like its becoming as I get further into the game.

I'm still enjoying the game on the whole though, more so than the new Ratchet and Clank as you actualy have to really play this and not just breeze through it without a thought like its possible to do with Ratchet and clank, at least there is a bit of challenge here.

I'm also really enjoying the dialogue, voice acting and cut scenes. The characters are likeable,

I even felt a little bit bad when sully died and he was only in the game for about an hour

, and I want to know where the story is gonna go next.

Hopefuly with the sequel they will concentrate more on the exploration and have less of the shooting, and then it could end up as a magnificant game...... As it is this one is still really good though.
