    The update sees to that...?

Are you saying it also wipes my saves? Maybe I don't feel like replaying everything and just want to play about on a specific area?

It wont wipe your save, but if you want to get trophies you have to start afresh.
      Kept you waiting, huh?

It'll tell you when you go to load up a save from game Ver.1.00 that you can't earn trophies with those saves.

As I have the Japanese version of this and could not understand so much of what was going on storywise, only a bit. I watched all the cut scenes on You Tube by this fella Deltaforcesfodd. Some of the final ones are truly awesome most stuff seems to tie up nicely with the bits I between (as watched end cut scenes in English before). All 67 parts took a while like 4 hrs plus i think and skipped some action stuf I have seen before. Raiden scene is brilliant though. Played a bit more for Trophies too not picked up too many yet but not too far in.

I had a blast playing it again, rolling through windows, grabbing guys, putting a knife to their throats and shooting their friends etc etc. I'm using the Laughing ammo and it seems to make the enemies start shooting at each other, very handy!
I should start using more of my ammo I picked up laughing, crying etc. Come to think of it I have the camo too. After just finishing MGS2 HD, hard to know what to play out of Peace Walker (Never played) and MGS 4.

Started this last night. Already like it a lot. Seems to play really well overall and looks nice. Barmy start.

The mechanics are fantastic. Little silly at times but very cool.

It's certainly the best game in the series. It's not broken like MGS3 and is more refined than the first two games. Although in some respects its hard to choose this over the first game, as that just has a certain magic about it.

Gameplay wise its the best in the series but the freedom and level design does take a nosedive after Act 2. Its however one of the few true Epics of this gen. Its a very big, bombastic game with production values that go through the roof. I've still not seen more eye pleasing cutscenes, even after my 4th playthrough I didn't skip them. There was also a full fledged online game on top of it, which was rather popular at the time.

Todays games try to push you through the environments as quickly as possible (isn't it, RE6?) but MGS4 is full of touches and character. If you take your time you can make the beauties pose for you for example.

Oh, and its a bit better than Rising!

Totally agree with you there. I feel it plays better but MGS is such a significant game for me.

Still looks glorious too. Rivals PC graphics.

I certainly didn't think MGS 3 was broken but it is my least favourite of the series overall.

The gameplay is flawless in my eyes. Easily the most fun I've had with a third person shooter this gen. Really cool upgrade system for the weapons, doesn't lose anything in regards to the sneaking even with the excellent shooting controls, and the music throughout is sublime.

There's so much they got right with MGS 4, it's fan service of the highest, highest quality like

the part where he goes all 32bit, just brilliant

                            .

My favourite highlight (don't worry no spoilers in sight!) is using the M60 and hearing Hayter go all Rambo. Great stuff.

It amuses me that somebody has gone to the effort of capturing it at 1080p despite the resolution only being 1024x768.
                              What a waste of bandwidth.

I should grab this again, haven't played it since it came out.

I'd rate MGS3 way above MGS4 though, it still surprises me so many people dislike it.

Well I enjoy the series but I have a strong hate of MGS3. I've never completed the game despite many attempts, I just think its horrible to play. It's just loads of little things, like the way the camera can't decide if it wants to be first person or third person as you crawl to the edge of grass patches, the ridiculously over fiddly menu system, the fact that when Im in third person view I'm never sure if my tranquillisers have actually hit an enemy until 25 minutes latter when they fall over as there's no real indication...I think its just an incredibly frustrating game to play with unintuative controls in general.

                                MGS4 plays really well though.
