In my early stage of the game, where I am, I found the Dragon (Golem) stage pretty good as I could do all the combat with the Mage and get all the Experience points. My Mega Fire is now up to Level 10 as a result of that and has a good range.

On the very outside chance that you all didn't know VG+ have Phantom Brave up for pre-order, release date at the end of August.
I may be finished with Disgaea by then, just.

Depends how much effort you put into Disgaea I suppose!

For the uninitiated (me!!) what is Phantom Brave?

The next Nippon Ichi game, looks very similar to Disgaea & La Pucelle but somehow does away with the grid system. It'll be interesting to see how strategic you can be without fixed movement criteria.

As long as it has the humour of Disgaea I will be interested I expect. Not necessarily on release though. I will await some feedback.

You can expect Saur to get up to level 9999 before we've even got the game - the man is a demon I tells ya!

Well I spent a few hours tonight. My Red Mage is up to Lvl 22 as I needed some cash and that seemed the quickest option. With the latest goodies HP 297 SP 331. I thought it was time to get the other 2 types of Mage. They are curremtly at Lvl 6. The Green (wind) Mage seems the more useless of the two, though her archery skills are improving.

Did a Common Orb for my Lvl 10 item and succeeded in clearing all of the first 10 levels (first time I have managed that). Reasonably useful as a result. I will have to work on a sword I suppose.

Did the first map of Chapter 3 as a result of getting the item. No problems. Cleared nice and quickly.

Hurry up and finish chapter 3 man, I did it last night and the last stage is wicked for power levelling, someone mentioned it early on in this thread.

There's a row of about 6 or 7 level 5 ish brawlers which do not attack! Stack them up into a level 35ish bloke, get Laharl doing the main attack with 3 other weak characters in a combo and you get levels every time, the enemy does counter but Laharl can take it. I got Laharl to level 21 (550+ hp) in no time doing that as well as a female warrior and brawler to 10 to get the ronin class.

I got my first legendary items through the item world (pity it's gum and glasses), I got some good "muscle" prizes from the hospital too.

I managed to subdue a statistician, gladiator and dietitian in a crappy moster weapon then move them into a ninja sword then go through to the 10th level of the sword - it's now a pretty tasty bit of kit. It is possible to move subdued specialists to any item whether you've visited it's world or not.

I've been playing this since Tuesday and clocked up 11 hours so far, here comes the weekend!

I think a large percentage of my weekend (well today and Saturday will be spent on this. Having got my two mages up to speed I can risk them against that brawler though I suspect that Level 35 may be a little optimistic with my Level 14 Laharl. I'll maybe have to equip them with Swords so that they will stand a good chance of getting included in the combat. What Level was your Laharl to start with?

I think I may try moving speciallists to my amulet or orb, go through again and see what I can create. Amulet seems a good bet as it is for defense. I'll then maybe try something offensive. There is so much to consider.

I had my Laharl at Lv. 12 when I started chapter 3 but kitted out with muscle spirit, muscle hustle, the crazy ass ninja sword previously mentioned and a dark rosary which I was given at the hospital.
The only bit in the whole chapter which was difficult was the two body guard for the end boss, they can be nasty if they start comboing you and the boss comes in and starts doing specials.

Are the bodyguards and the boss susceptible to fire I wonder. I could use the mage to dispose of them if that was the case. I can hit with mega fire from 6 squares away. If I can dispose of them I can tranfer my power-ups to Laharl to dispose of the stack and get my other Mages levelled (also my new Warrior). I'lh have to give it a go this afternoon. Best I can manage on level 2 was around 489 Experience in the space of a couple of minutes if the mega fire was registering in the 100's. 4hits and the map is clear.

Bassman, put the cursor over the enemy, it'll give you % on Wind, Fire and Ice If it's a minus figure, they're really susceptible to that type of magic and obviously if it's a plus figure, it'll do nowt.

They're random as well. Play the same lvl twice an the chars will have different % again.

I'm up to chapter 10 or 11 i think. This game is cracking me up with it's mild swearing and sexual references.
Laharl is at lvl 42, and i freaked myself out the other night, I thought he's gained 5 more specials and he did! But they where my red mages who was stood next to him!!! They went when i moved her. Looks like you can use laharl pupils specials when stood next to each other ^^
My dragon, Alex, which i created is flying up the lvls at the mo, and i just got an ice breath attack 8) He's great stuff.

You can learn your pupil's skills via this - all you need to is keep using the spell until it reaches level 1 at which point your pupil doesn't need to stand next to you. Then the more you use it the more you gain, and you eventually end up with the Giga and Terra level spells. I have Laharl with high levels cures and magics through this, although I almost always end up using the Winged Slayer attack.

I did something similar too - I used Dragon classes (Bahamut or Tiamat) later on instead of mages and clerics got them all to learn Braveheart, Magic Boost and the Tera level spells and transmigrating at 1000 repeatedly putting everything on attack.

This gives a character with Laharl levels of HP, ranged attacks, insane attack power and valuable status, cure and magic support.

Quick word of warning though, I've read that you lose inherited skills at transmigration so you have to re-learn them.
