I just got into a game online (360), though it's still unplayable for me.

Can't say I share the love of the single-player personally - I've experienced some pretty iffy checkpointing, many unfair deaths (I class deaths that are seemingly unavoidable and which don't recur during a repeat play of the checkpoint unfair - surely I can't be the only one who became a cropper more than once on that vehicle escape section a couple of levels into the game?), some teeth-gnashingly drawn out loading times when restarting said checkpoints and some frankly useless team-mate AI.

Oh, and that bit a couple of levels from the end of the game where you drop down into a narrow section and suddenly have

a burning jeep heading towards you

. What was meant to happen there?

The squad yells at you to fall back, so you try to retreat and hurriedly jump up the slope but slide down and get crushed before you can make it out. Then you reload the checkpoint and try again in case you just timed the jump wrong but find that, no, you can't actually get out of the ditch and get crushed again, cursing the misleading nature of everyone shouting to fall back. So you try again and pepper the jeep with bullets, just because that seems to be the only option; the jeep then glitches a little, an enemy NPC suddenly appears from nowhere on the bonnet whilst being comically dragged along by the jeep which then jarringly disappears in a limp explosion

. I had no idea if that was what was meant to happen purely because of the glitchiness of it all, but at least it allowed me to press on.

Still, the multiplayer's pretty ace from what I've played so far; utter carnage for the most part and I'm finding myself far more able to consistently get a decent round in (decent for me anyway) without the threat of being peppered by some airborne killstreak reward.

And the sound in this is incredible. Meaty bullet sounds that reverberate dependent on the surroundings, that awesome "DDDVVVVWWWwwmmmmm" sound when a shell goes off at close range, it all adds to the sheer shellshock, particularly when you're cowering in a building that's crumbling around you.

Is it just me or are your team-mates in the single player "afraid" of killing enemies?!

They shoot but they never seem to kill anyone at all, I have to do all the killing. Pretty poor if that is actually the case.

Pretty much everything Jebus said here... I too bought it yesterday and I've also played a few levels of single player.

My experience of the multi player demo wasn't exactly amazing, but I have liked previous BF games (and BC1) and as the deal came up it seemed too good to pass on.

Enjoying it so far (in single player). In fact, I think I am enjoying the campaign more than I did MW2. Enjoying the destructible environments, although at one point I was in a house, minding my own business and shooting things, then I looked around and most of the house I was in had gone

Some of the graphics have really impressed me too. I thought the snow was rather nice (in particular the mountains in the background)... and some of the faces in cut scenes look great too!

I only played Bad Company 1 few weeks ago, In comparison I though my AI buddies all had blanks as ammo in that game. Where as in this there has been a few times I have been behind and they have ran off ahead and finished them off before I got there. The enemy AI has been vastly improved (wasn't hard) now they actually move around and seek you out.
Really enjoying single player, they still have some funny banter and the action is at a steady pace throught, scenery and locations are for more varied than original too. Great job from DICE on all fronts makw me curious to see what they have instore for MoH reboot multiplayer.

Wooohoo got my connection problems sorted (was the wireless channel) and now getting in the game good and proper. Played three multiplayer games and it absolutely blows MW2 out of the water in my opinion!

Played for a few hours last night and for me the single player is glitchy but a big improvement on the first game. Multiplayer is great too but I don't see me playing months from now as it's largely map pack material.

Played a bit more today and able to form some more thoughts.

Single Player is pretty good actually given its constraints. It wants to grace you with as much specticle as possible. The graphical engine really looks like it has been tweaked, as at time (bar the tearing) it looks exceptional. Although the same graphical tweaks can't be true in the same way as in Multiplayer, popup is everywhere.

Mulitplayer, IMO, is pretty impenetrable. Played about 8 MP matches across various modes and I don't find it much fun to be honest, getting constantly shot dead. You are hopelessly outgunned from the get-go, with some serious hardcore players with massive level ups and weapons advantages over you. I am trying my hardest to get a decent weapon with some sort of scope on it, but at this rate its going to take years.

Checked the leaderboards out and there are already people on Level 30. Seeing as the game was only released on Friday, and Tuesday in the States, I'm finding this a real "sign of the times" game. I.e. ****ing impossible to get anywhere unless I either got the game early, have 25 hours a day to play, or just a meekon-brain that plays a game in a "Matrix" mode to which it holds no challenge for.

Without any of those 3 attributes I wonder where/what I am doing wrong to be, well, so **** at it, and if things get a bit more achievable when you finally unlock something.

I've not had any problems really bar the connection errors last night. The uk servers have been perfect and most of the time games are very even.

My only irk with it is probably the one that lots of people have commented on already, you start off very poorly equipped, even as a medic class you have no med kits or revives until you've levelled it up a fair bit. It only takes s few round to get them but still, it seems a little silly to me.

Anybody who is struggling online , here is a tip, never play on your own. Always join a squad so you can spawn next to any of it's members and they can spawn near you for backup, it really makes a massive difference and stops you having to traverse the entire map on each death. Also you earn more points for assisting your squad in different ways.

Played the first few missions. It looks spectacular but I find the deaths to be a bit random - seemingly one hot in a chaotic firefight will down you, which might be realistic but can be frustrating as hell and is at odds with the rest of the game (as in FPS blastathon).

wish i could say the same. i don't like the changes Dice made, both in SP and MP. the lack of open environments in the campaign and the quick deaths due to the missing health bars are simply not fitting into the MP chaos.

also, the absence of humour is annoying. i loved the funny lines of Haggart and Sweerwater in the first game.

Yeah, while I did/do like the campaign quite a bit, I can't really argue with very much of this. Like I said, I think it's good, but far from a must-play.
